House in Ruin - Initial painting
En esta ocasión voy a presentar el pintado de una casa en ruina de la marca Warlord.
This time I am going to present the painting of a ruined house by Warlord.
Esta Granja en Ruina se presenta para el juego Bolt Action, pero perfectamente se puede colocar en juegos de ambientación de muchas épocas, incluso en Fantasy o Ci-Fi.
Es una casa de plástico inyectado, que se puede montar y pintar tal como viene, que para esta ocasión así se ha realizado, pero se puede dar mucho más, añadiendo texturas, más escombros, cambiando colores de los que se muestra en la caja, y añadiendo muchos efectos ambientales.
This Farm in Ruin is featured for the Bolt Action game, but it can perfectly be placed in setting games from many eras, even Fantasy or Ci-Fi.
It is an injected plastic house, which can be assembled and painted as it comes, which has been made this way for this occasion, but much more can be given, adding textures, more debris, changing colors from those shown on the box, and adding many environmental effects.
La maqueta realmente son dos edificios, por un lado una casa de dos plantas, y lo que se podría denominar un cobertizo, como segunda edificación.
El montaje es sencillo, aunque no viene con instrucciones de montado. También indicar que todas las piezas son intercambiables, o podríamos denominarlo “multipose”.
The model is really two buildings, on the one hand a two-story house, and what could be called a shed, as a second building.
Assembly is simple, although it does not come with assembly instructions. Also indicate that all the pieces are interchangeable, or we could call it "multipose"

Hay que decir que tengo 3 casa en ruinas de Warlord, presentados en tres formatos de caja diferente, pero la sorpresa es que en el interior, las tres piezas es la misma. Sólo han cambiado en la presentación de las cajas la posición de la fotografía y el pintado.
It must be said that I have 3 Warlord ruined houses, presented in three different box formats, but the surprise is that inside, all three pieces are the same. Only the position of the photograph and the painting have changed in the presentation of the boxes.
No he añadido base a las casas, que se lo añadiré en las siguientes que tengo por montar, ya que veo que hace falta para añadir elementos y que quede más creíble.
I have not added a base to the houses, which I will add in the next ones that I have to build, since I see that it is necessary to add elements and make it more credible.
Al conjunto lo he imprimado con espray Gris (Aerosol Surface Primer 011), ya que no deseo que quede muy oscuro el conjunto, quiero que se pueda ver el trabajo que realizaré en la segunda parte. Si le pongo imprimación negra, quedará todo oscuro y apagado, algo que no termina de gustarme.
Como en el modelado de la casa se han incluido dos tipos diferentes de piedras, he decidido que serán de colores diferentes.
Lo primero que hago es pintar la argamasa de las piedras más pequeñas.
I have primed the whole with Grey spray (Surface Primer 011 Aerosol), since I don't want the whole to be too dark, I want the work to be done in the second part to be seen. If I put black primer on it, everything will be dark and dull, something that I don't quite like.
As two different types of stones have been included in the modeling of the house, I have decided that they will be of different colors.
The first thing I do is paint the mortar of the smaller stones.
Para el pintado de la argamasa se ha usado:
- Hueso (Model Color 918 – 005), como color base de la argamasa. Este color se diluirá un poco más de la cuenta, si llegar a ser un Wash, para que la pintura penetre bien entre las piedras.
- Gris Pálido (Game Wash 202), que se aplicará ligeramente diluido y de forma aleatoria por pequeñas manchas, para que el color hueso no predomine en exceso.
- Gris Claro (Model Wash 515), más oscuro que el anterior, que se aplicará igual que el anterior.
For the painting of the mortar has been used:
- Ivory (Model Color 918 - 005), as the base color of the mortar. This color will be diluted a little more than necessary, if it becomes a Wash, so that the paint penetrates well between the stones.
- Pale Grey (Game Wash 202), which will be applied slightly diluted and randomly by small spots, so that the Ivory color does not predominate excessively.
- Light grey (Model Wash 515), darker than the previous one, which will be applied the same as the previous one.
Se aprovecha el para dar un lavado general y sin diluir, de Gris Oscuro (Model Wash 517), a todas las juntas de los desconchones donde se ven piedras de rio redondeadas.
It is used to give a general and undiluted wash, of Dark Grey (Model Wash 517), to all the joints of the chips where rounded river stones are seen.
Y entre las piedras de las esquinas, puertas y ventanas.
And between the stones in the corners, doors and windows.
Con ello he conseguido dar un poco de profundidad entre las piedras de la pared. Si hubiese aplicado negro, daría una sensación excesiva de una profundidad que no tiene.
With this I have managed to give a little depth between the stones of the wall. If I had applied black, it would give an excessive feeling of a depth that it does not have.
Con la definición entre piedras, aplico, para los cantos rodados los siguientes colores:
- Gris Verde (Model Color 866 – 165), como color base de las piedras. Este color lo aplico piedra a piedra, ya que no deseo que penetre en la zona que he aplicado el Wash gris.
- Gris Basalto (Model Color 869 – 162), aplicado en pincel semi seco, para la 1ª luz
- Gris Marina (Model Color 991 – 159), aplicado en pincel semi seco, para la 2ª luz.
- Gris Muralla (Game Color 049), aplicado en pincel seco, para la 3ª luz.
- Gris Plateado (Model Color 883 – 152), aplicado a pincel seco, para la 4º y última luz.
With the definition between stones, I apply the following colors for the pebbles:
- Grey Green (Model Color 866 - 165), as the base color of the stones. I apply this color stone by stone, since I do not want it to penetrate the area where I have applied the Gray Wash.
- Basalt Grey (Model Color 869 - 162), applied in a semi dry brush, for the 1st light
- Dark Sea Grey (Model Color 991 - 159), applied in a semi dry brush, for the 2nd light.
- Stonewall Grey (Game Color 049), applied with a dry brush, for the 3rd light.
- Silvergrey (Model Color 883 - 152), applied with a dry brush, for the 4th and last light.
De momento la diferencia de colores y las iluminaciones, parece no apreciarse, pero ya se verá más adelante.
At the moment the difference in colors and lighting does not seem to be appreciated, but it will be seen later.
Con las piedras grises pitadas, se aplica el color en las piedras pequeñas, las que hemos dado blanco en la argamasa y las esquinas, puertas y ventanas.
With the pitted gray stones, the color is applied to the small stones, which we have given white in the mortar and the corners, doors and windows.
Para estas piedras pequeñas se han usado:
- Dorado Óxido de Hierro (Acrylic Studio 09), como color base de las piedras pequeñas rectangulares.
- Marrón Mate (Model Color 984 – 140), para 1º tono piedras pequeñas, aplicado de forma aleatoria.
- Marrón Claro (Model Color 929 – 129), para 2º tono piedras pequeñas, aplicado de forma aleatoria.
- Tierra Oscura (Model Color 874 – 134), para 3º tono piedras pequeñas, aplicado de forma aleatoria.
- Mezcla de Arena Iraquí (Model Color 819 – 124) al 40% + Marrón Caqui (Model Color 988 – 115) al 60%, aplicado en pincel semi seco, para las luces generales de las piedras pequeñas.
- Arena Iraquí, para las luces planas de la piedras pequeñas.
For these small stones the following have been used:
- Orange Iron Oxide (Acrylic Studio 09), as the base color of the small rectangular stones.
- Flatt Brown (Model Color 984 - 140), for 1st tone small stones, applied randomly.
- Light Brown (Model Color 929 - 129), for 2nd tone small stones, applied randomly.
- Tan Earth (Model Color 874 - 134), for 3rd tone small stones, applied randomly.
- Mix of Iraqi Sand (Model Color 819 - 124) at 40% + Khaki (Model Color 988 - 115) at 60%, applied in a semi-dry brush, for the general highlights of small stones.
- Iraqi sand, for the flat lights of the small stones.
También se pinta el estucado interior y exterior de la casa. Este pintado quedará como “nuevo de fábrica”, a falta del envejecimiento ambiental que se realizará en la segunda parte.
Aunque el color base son los mismos para el interior y el exterior, se han trabajado de forma diferene para oscurecer más el interior.
Para el exterior de los edificios se ha usado:
- Arena Clara (Model Color 837 – 007), como color base.
- Mezcla de Arena Clara +Blanco Sucio (Game Color 101) al 50%, aplicado en pincel semi seco, para la 1ª luz.
- Blanco (Model color 951 – 001), aplicado en pincel seco únicamente de arriba abajo,
Para el interior de los edificios, se ha usado:
- Mezcla de Arena Clara (Model Color 837 – 007) + Marrón Dorado (Liquid Acrylic 818) al 50%, como color base.
- Arena Clara, aplicado en pincel semiseco, para la 1ª luz.
- Blanco Sucio (Game Color 101), aplicado en pincel seco, para 2º luz.
The interior and exterior stucco of the house is also painted. This painting will remain as "new from the factory", in the absence of the environmental aging that will take place in the second part.
Although the base color is the same for the interior and exterior, they have been worked differently to darken the interior more.
For the exterior of the buildings, the following have been used:
- Pale Sand (Model Color 837 - 007), as the base color.
- Mix of Pale Sand + Off White (Game Color 101) at 50%, applied in a semi-dry brush, for the 1st light.
- White (Model color 951 - 001), applied by dry brush only from top to bottom,
For the interior of buildings, it has been used:
- Mix of Pale Sand (Model Color 837 - 007) + Golden Brown (Liquid Acrylic 818) at 50%, as the base color.
- Pale Clara, applied with a semi-dry brush, for the 1st light.
- Off White (Game Color 101), applied with a dry brush, for 2nd light.
Para las piedras grandes de las esquinas, puertas y ventanas, se han usado:
- Gris Basalto (Model Color 869 – 162), como color base.
- Gris Marina (Model Color 991 – 159), aplicado en pincel semi seco, para la 1ª luz.
- Gris Muralla (Game Color 883 – 152), aplicado en pincel semi seco, para la 2ª luz.
- Gris Plateado (Model Color 883 – 152), aplicado en pincel seco, para la 3ª luz.
- Blanco Pergamino (Model Color 820 – 004), aplicado en pincel seco, para la 4ª luz.
For the large stones in the corners, doors and windows, the following have been used:
- Basalt Grey (Model Color 869 - 162), as the base color.
- Marina Gray (Model Color 991 - 159), applied in a semi dry brush, for the 1st light.
- Stonewall Grey (Game Color 883 - 152), applied with a semi dry brush, for the 2nd light.
- Silvergrey (Model Color 883 - 152), applied with a dry brush, for the 3rd light.
- Offwhite (Model Color 820 - 004), applied with a dry brush, for the 4th light.
Por último, se pinta la madera.
Como se trata de un edificio que parece haber sido bombardeado, y como paso previo al envejecimiento posterior, se aprovecha para dar un efecto de madera algo quemada.
Para ello se han usado los siguientes colores:
- Tierra Mate (Model Color 983 – 143), como color base.
- Madera Natural (Model Color 834 – 183), para filtro de algunos tablones aleatorios.
- Lavado Negro (Game Wash 201), para lavado general para que resalten las vetas de la madera y dar sombra.
- Humo (Model Color 939 – 181), para filtro general en todas las maderas.
- Gris Oscuro (Model Color 994 – 166), para imitar ceniza de las zonas de madera quemada.
- Negro (Model Color 950 – 169), aplicado por punteado sobre el Gris Oscuro, para imitar madera quemada.
- Humo, que se aplica de nuevo, para oscurecer más alrededor de la zona quemada.
- Lavado Negro, para resaltar más las vetas de la madera, en las zonas cercanas a la madera quemada.
Finally, the wood is painted.
As it is a building that seems to have been bombed, and as a previous step to subsequent aging, it is used to give a somewhat burnt wood effect.
For this, the following colors have been used:
- Flat Earth (Model Color 983 - 143), as the base color.
- Natural Wood Grain (Model Color 834 - 183), to filter some random planks.
- Black Shace (Game Wash 201), for general washing to highlight the wood grain and provide shade.
- Smoke (Model Color 939 - 181), for general filter on all woods.
- Dark Grey (Model Color 994 - 166), to imitate ash from burned wood areas.
- Black (Model Color 950 - 169), applied by stippling over Dark Gray, to imitate burnt wood.
- Smoke, which is applied again, to darken more around the burned area.
- Black Shade, to further highlight the wood grain, in the areas close to the burned wood.
El conjunto final, de la casa principal de dos plantas, queda de la siguiente forma.
The final set, of the main house with two floors, is as follows.
En la siguiente entrega de este trabajo, se realizarán los efectos de envejecimiento ambiental de la casa y, en espacial, de la madera.
