[PdA - Escenografía] Rocas para Wargames

Una buena idea para realizar obstrucciones naturales, son afloraciones de rocas.

Estas podemos realizarlas de varias maneras.-

- Ir al suministrador natural por excelencia, la montaña, y conseguir piedras adecuadas. Ventaja: gratis, forma con aristas y resultado creíble. Inconveniente: su peso y la dificultad de no encontrar el tamaño y forma adecuada.

- Hacerlas de papel maché, forrada de escayola o sin nada. Ventaja: realizarlo del tamaño y forma que se necesita. Inconveniente: su acabado redondeado y sin aristas, liviano y resultado poco creíble.

- Hacerlas de masilla. Ventaja: tamaño y forma que se necesita, aristas adecuadas, resultado creíble. Inconveniente: Caro, muy caro y pesado

- Hacerlas con un molde comercial y escayola. Ventaja: forma con aristas, barato, liviano y resultado creíble. Inconveniente: la dificultad de no encontrar el tamaño adecuado, son los que hay en el mercado.

Para este tipo de piezas, yo hace tiempo que he optado por los moldes. Estos o los hacemos partiendo de un original, o se adquieren unos ya fabricados.

Yo hace tiempo adquirí para hacer estas obstrucciones para escenografía, dos moldes de la marca Noch, para maquetismo ferroviario.

Estos moldes son, por un lado una plataforma de piedra (Woodland C1242).

A good idea to perform natural obstructions, are rock outcrops.We can do them in several ways.-- Go to the natural supplier par excellence, the mountain, and get appropriate stones. Disadvantage: the difficulty of not finding the right size, are those in the market.For this type of pieces, I have long opted for the molds. These are either made from an original, or some are already manufactured.I bought some time ago to make these obstructions for scenography, two molds of the Noch brand, for railway model making.These molds are, on the one hand, a stone platform (Woodland C1242).

Para la masilla he utilizado Diplast, agua, un recipiente y una cuchara para la mezcla. En otra ocasión utilice escayola tintada con acrílica, para aplicar el color base. En esta ocasión no lo he tintado.

For putty I have used Diplast, water, a container and a spoon for mixing. On another occasion use plaster dyed with acrylic, to apply the base color. This time I have not dyed it.

El Diplast es una escayola cerámica, algo más resistente que la escayola normal, y su precio no es abusivo. Esta resistencia nos permite poder transportar las piezas sin que se descascarillen por golpes del transporte y manipulación. Si se cae desde la mesa de juego al suelo, se rompe exactamente igual que una pieza de escayola.

He colocado Diplast en el recipiente desechable, al que añado agua y mezclo bien, hasta que queda una sustancia liquida pero espesa.

The Diplast is a ceramic plaster, something more resistant than the normal plaster, and its price is not abusive. This resistance allows us to be able to transport the pieces without being dehusked by blows of transport and handling. If it falls from the game table to the floor, it breaks exactly like a piece of plaster.
I have placed Diplast in the disposable container, to which I add water and mix well, until there is a liquid substance but thick.

Deposito esta masa liquida en el molde y enraso para eliminar el exceso.

I deposit this liquid mass in the mold and weed it to eliminate the excess.

Dejo secar bien. En el caso del Diplast, con dejarlo un par de horas, es suficiente para que este sólido y se desmoldé bien.

Ya tenemos las piezas listas para pintar.

We already have the pieces ready to paint.

Para el pintado de las rocas he utilizado las siguientes pinturas.

For the painting of the rocks I have used the following paintings.

- Marrón rojizo (Model Air 039), como color base.

- US Tierra Roja (Model Air 293), para primer matiz.

- Marrón Dorado (Model Air 032), para segundo matiz.

- Tierra Oscura (Model Air 029), para tercer matiz.

- Amarillo Arena (Model Air028), para primera luz.

- Marrón claro (Model Air 027), para segunda luz.

- Alemán Camuflaje Beige (Model Color 821 – 103), para primer Pincel Seco.

- Arena Iraquí (Model Color 819 – 124), Para segundo pincel seco.

Más de la mitad del trabajo que he realizado sobre estas piezas, ha sido hecho con aerógrafo.

- Reddish brown (Model Air 039), as base color.
- US Red Earth (Model Air 293), for the first shade.
- Golden Brown (Model Air 032), for second shade.
- Dark Earth (Model Air 029), for third nuance.
- Sand Yellow (Model Air028), for first light.
- Light brown (Model Air 027), for second light.
- German Beige Camouflage (Model Color 821 - 103), for the first Dry Brush.
- Iraqi Sand (Model Color 819 - 124), For second dry brush.
More than half of the work I have done on these pieces has been done with an airbrush.

El primer color aplicado ha sido el Marrón Rojizo, que aparte de dar la capa de imprimación, permite darle el tono rojizo de base que suelen tener la inmensa mayoría de rocas.

Insistiré más en las depresiones de la pieza, que en las aristas y zonas prominentes.

The first color applied has been the Reddish Brown, which apart from giving the primer layer, allows to give it the reddish base tone that the vast majority of rocks usually have.
I will insist more on the depressions of the piece, than on the edges and prominent areas.

El segundo color aplicado ha sido el Tierra Roja, bastante más claro que el anterior, pero aplicado de forma intermitente y con algo de distancia., consiguiendo eliminar algo del rojo tan oscuro.

The second color applied has been the Red Earth, much lighter than the previous one, but applied intermittently and with some distance., Getting to eliminate some of the dark red.

Con este color he pretendido que las piezas tengamos un matiz adicional. Al ser aplicado con aerógrafo, existen zonas con más pintura y otros con transparencias, por lo que la variación nos permite entrever ya una pequeña cantidad de matices interesantes.

Ya se empieza a entrever la textura de las piezas.

Después aplico el Marrón Dorado, de forma similar al anterior, pero sin insistir demasiado en ningún punto.

With this color I have tried that the pieces have an additional shade. When applied with airbrush, there are areas with more paint and others with transparencies, so the variation allows us to glimpse a small amount of interesting nuances.
Already begins to glimpse the texture of the pieces.
Then I apply the Golden Brown, in a similar way to the previous one, but without insisting too much on any point.

Los matices van en aumento y la sensación de textura, también.

El cuarto color ha sido el Tierra Oscura.

The fourth color has been the Dark Earth.

El último color para conseguir matices, ha sido este.

El quinto color aplicado, es el Amarillo Arena, para incrementar las luces. Este color se aplica con el aerógrafo bastante alejado de la pieza.

The last color to achieve nuances, has been this.
The fifth color applied is the Yellow Sand, to increase the lights. This color is applied with the airbrush quite far from the piece.

Con este color, ya empieza a definirse el color final que tendrán las piedras.

El sexto color ha sido el Marrón Claro, aplicado de la misma forma que el anterior.

With this color, the final color of the stones begins to be defined.
The sixth color has been the Light Brown, applied in the same way as the previous one.

El color final de la piedra ya la tenemos conseguida, con una infinidad de matices muy interesantes.

Si los ocho colores utilizados han servido para dar el color a la piedra, ahora le toca el turno a sacar la textura de las rocas.

Para ello utilizo un pincel seco con el Beige, insistiendo sobre todo en los bordes del perímetro de las rocas, aunque no se deja ninguna zona sin aplicar.

The final color of the stone is already achieved, with an infinity of very interesting nuances.
If the eight colors used have served to give color to the stone, now it's your turn to remove the texture of the rocks.
For this I use a dry brush with the Beige, insisting mostly on the edges of the perimeter of the rocks, although no area is left untouched.

Y por último he aplicado el Arena Iraquí, también en pincel seco., para dar iluminación y profundidad a las rocas.

And finally I applied the Iraqi Sand, also in dry brush, to give light and depth to the rocks.

Y hasta aquí, este es el resultado, que podríamos dar por finalizado.

Pero yo siempre voy a buscar de darle un poco más de vuelta a la tuerca.

He decidido aplicar lavados, pero no en exceso, por lo que usaré sólo dos:

- Verde oscuro (Model Wash 512), para dar un efecto moho muy interesante.

He aplicado el Marrón Oscuro en todas las depresiones de las rocas, que junto con los pinceles secos aplicados con anterioridad, consigo dar un efecto de relieve y textura muy aceptable.

- Dark Brown (Model Wash 514), to apply shade to the rocks.
- Dark green (Model Wash 512), to give a very interesting mold effect.
I have applied the Dark Brown in all the depressions of the rocks, that together with the dry brushes applied previously, I get an effect of relief and texture very acceptable.

Después aplico el Verde Oscuro.

Este lo aplico de forma irregular en todos los bajos de la base de las piedras, y en zonas donde podría quedar acumulada el agua de lluvia.

Then I apply the Dark Green.
This I apply it of irregular form in all the low ones of the base of the stones, and in zones where the rainwater could be accumulated.

En la foto anterior se puede apreciar a distancia este tono sutil del verde, pero en las siguientes fotos se puede ver detalles de donde está aplicado y como se ve desde cerca.

Igual que se aplicado en la roca grande, mucho más fácil de hacer este efecto, también se le ha hecho en las piedras pequeñas.

Just as it was applied in the large rock, much easier to do this effect, it has also been done in small stones.

Ya tenemos terminas las obstrucciones naturales.
