[PdA - 1/12] Fuente y Estanque de Casa de Muñecas – Parte 3

Fountain and Pond of Dolls House #3

La fuente con estanque ya está un poco más presentable, incluso para muchos no modelistas, ya estarán más que satisfechos habiendo llegado hasta este punto.

Pero ahora falta montar las estructuras (por llamarlo de alguna forma) de lo que posteriormente serán los chorros de agua, caídas de agua y goteos.

The fountain with pond is already a little more presentable, even for many non-model makers, they will be more than satisfied having reached this point.
But now it is necessary to mount the structures (to call it somehow) of what will later be water jets, waterfalls and drips.

Creando las caídas de agua - Creating the waterfalls

Usando como referencia el video de José Brito “Vallejo Water Textures”, en el que se ve como realizar esta parte del trabajo, lo primero que he realizado son las caídas de agua, o cascadas.

Para ello he usado:

- Cristal.

- Pincel económico.

- Silicona en spray.

- Efecto Aguas Tranquilas.

El cristal lo usaré como soporte para conseguir las “láminas” de efecto agua (más adelante lo explico).

Este cristal sale de un marco de fotos de los que se pueden adquirir en tiendas de productos de bajo coste.

El motivo de que sea de cristal es porque es liso, se puede encontrar fácilmente y me sirve para otras técnicas, incluso pictóricas.

The glass will use it as a support to get the "sheets" of water effect (later I explain it).
This crystal comes out of a frame of photos that can be purchased at low-cost product stores.
The reason that it is made of glass is because it is smooth, it can be found easily and it is useful for other techniques, even pictorial ones.

Una vez adquirido rebordeo el cristal con cinta adhesiva plástica, de las utilizadas en electricidad como aislante.

El motivo de que sea la cinta para aislantes, es porque si el borde del cristal no está esmerilado, evitará que nos cortemos, y porque así veo rápidamente el borde del cristal y evito accidentes involuntarios.

Once the glass has been acquired with plastic adhesive tape, those used in electricity as insulation.
The reason that it is the tape for insulators, is because if the edge of the glass is not frosted, it will prevent us from cutting, and because that way I quickly see the edge of the glass and avoid involuntary accidents.

Sobre el cristal aplicaré una capa de aceite de silicona.

Colocar la silicona sobre la superficie a trabajar el efecto agua me permite poder extraer las láminas de efecto agua más fácilmente y sin que se me rompan.

Luego aplico Aguas Tranquilas en cantidad, ya que tengo que crear una lámina ligeramente gruesa, de 0’5 ó 1mm.

I will apply a layer of silicone oil on the glass.
Placing the silicone on the surface to work the water effect allows me to extract the sheets of water effect more easily and without being broken.
Then I apply Calm Waters in quantity, since I have to create a slightly thick sheet, of 0'5 or 1mm.

Con el pincel económico, lo extiendo e intento crear una extensión líquida de unos 20x10cm.

With the economic brush, I extend it and try to create a liquid extension of about 20x10cm.

El charco que ahora tenemos, es lo que cuando se seque será la lámina de resina flexible con la que trabajaré más tarde.

Este trabajo lo dejo reposar unas 48 horas, como poco, en un lugar libre de polvo, y nivelado.

The puddle that we now have, is what when dry will be the flexible resin sheet with which I will work later.

I let this work stand for 48 hours, at least, in a place free of dust, and level.

Y lo tapo para que no caiga polvo u otro elemento que pueda estropear el trabajo (pelos de gato, como es mi caso).

I cover it so that dust or other element that can spoil the work does not fall (cat's hair, as it is my case).

Una vez pasadas más de 48 horas y tenemos bien seca la ya creada lámina de efecto aguas tranquilas, he desenganchado los bordes de la lámina del cristal.

Esto ha sido bastante fácil, gracias a el aceite de silicona que he rociado antes.

This has been quite easy, thanks to the silicone oil that I have sprayed before.

Una vez desenganchados los bordes, sólo queda ir tirando de ella con cuidado.

Para hacer las caídas de agua, he ido cortando tiras del ancho de las muescas de la fuente.

To make the waterfalls, I have been cutting strips the width of the notches of the fountain.

Compruebo que la longitud y el ancho sean los correctos.

Para enganchar estas tiras de efecto agua, deposito una pequeña cantidad de aguas tranquilas en un pequeño recipiente y empapo el pincel económico con este producto.

To hook these water effect strips, I deposit a small amount of calm water in a small container and soak the economic brush with this product.

Aplico la resina en la parte superior de la tira de efecto agua.

I apply the resin on top of the water effect strip.

A parte de desaparecer el extremo de la tira en el agua de la fuente, esta queda enganchada en la posición deseada.

Apart from disappearing the end of the strip in the water of the source, it is hooked in the desired position.

Y se hace lo mismo con la parte inferior.

Lo único que debo tener cuidad al hacer este proceso, es que la tira de Aguas Tranquilas quede totalmente recta y perpendicular al estanque.

And the same is done with the bottom.
The only thing I have to take care of when doing this process is that the strip of Calm Waters is totally straight and perpendicular to the pond.

Hago lo mismo con todas las tiras que van a representar el agua cayendo desde la fuente al estanque.

I do the same with all the strips that are going to represent the water falling from the source to the pond.

De paso, empapo con el efecto Aguas Tranquilas todos las tiras, para empezar a dar el efecto de agua cayendo.

By the way, I soak all the strips with the Calm Waters effect, to start giving the effect of falling water.

Goteos - Drips

Para dar un mayor realismo a la caída de agua, reforzaré estos con goteos de agua, algo muy característico en fuentes y pequeños saltos de agua.

To give more realism to the fall of water, I will reinforce these with dripping water, something very characteristic in springs and small waterfalls.

Estos goteos los haré con:

These drips I will do with:

- Barniz brillante la Americana.

- Hilo de nylon de 0’08mm de espesor.

- Bright American lacquer.
- 0.08mm thick nylon thread.

Para poder hacer este efecto, me construyo una herramienta que no es otra cosa que una estructura de madera, en la que he colocado un fondo de cartón negro, para poder ver lo que estoy haciendo, si no es realmente difícil saber donde estas y que estas haciendo.

In order to make this effect, I build a tool that is nothing more than a wooden structure, in which I have placed a black cardboard background, to see what I am doing, if it is not really difficult to know where you are and what You are doing.

De esta estructura, cuelgo tiras del hilo de nylon, sujetadas por simple blue-tack.

A cada hilo de nylon,  la embadurno con un pincel empapado con el barniz brillante.

Poco a poco sobre el hilo van apareciendo gotitas consecutivas. Dejaremos de pasar el barniz en cuanto creamos que el tamaño de las gotas son las adecuadas.

From this structure, I hang strips of nylon thread, held by simple blue-tack.
To each nylon thread, I daub it with a brush soaked with the shiny varnish.
Little by little, consecutive droplets appear on the thread. We will stop passing the varnish as soon as we believe that the size of the drops are adequate.

Personalmente he incidido un poco más en unas que en otras, bien poniendo más cantidad de barniz en las pasadas, bien aplicando más pasadas de barniz.

Personally I have incised a little more in some than in others, either putting more amount of varnish in the past, or applying more passes of varnish.

Esta estructura tenemos que dejarla en un lugar libre de polvo y que no haya corrientes de aire.

Si hemos colocado los hilos algo cerca una de otras, debemos estar vigilantes, ya que tienen una tendencia exagerada a unirse, por culpa de la electricidad estática.

This structure we have to leave it in a place free of dust and that there are no drafts.

Si durante el secado no tenemos cuidado de que esto no se produzca, el trabajo en esos hilos unidos, se habrá estropeado.

Para ello debemos separarlos con sumo cuidado, como por ejemplo con el mango de un pincel, ya que de lo contario deberemos de cortarlo, como me pasó a mí con un par de ellos.

If during the drying we do not take care that this does not happen, the work in those united threads, will have been damaged.

To do this we must separate them with great care, as for example with the handle of a brush, since otherwise we should cut it, as happened to me with a couple of them.

Una vez seco este efecto, que yo recomiendo un par de días para estar bien tranquilos, he procedido a enganchar alguno de estos hilos en las posiciones que he considerado perfectos para el efecto que deseo conseguir.

Once dry this effect, which I recommend a couple of days to be quiet, I proceeded to hook some of these threads in the positions that I have considered perfect for the effect I want to achieve.

Estos goteos los engancharé con cianocrilato en la posición deseada, teniendo en cuenta, al igual que las tiras de Efecto Agua anteriores, que este, rectas y perpendiculares al agua del estanque. Primero engancho la parte inferior en el lugar escogido y después la superior.

These drips will hook them with cyanoacrylate in the desired position, taking into account, like the previous Water Effect strips, that they are straight and perpendicular to the pond water. First I hook the lower part in the chosen place and then the upper one.

El sobrante resultante de la parte superior, la cortamos con un bisturí o una cuchilla muy afilada.

The surplus resulting from the upper part, we cut with a scalpel or a very sharp blade.

Chorros de agua - Water springs

Los chorros de agua los realizaré en la parte superior de la fuente, a modo de los surtidores por donde sale el agua.

Para ello he utilizado hilo de nylon de 0’8mm.

The jets of water will be made in the upper part of the fountain, in the manner of the jets where the water comes out.
For this I used 0.8mm nylon thread.

Con un taladro manual con broca de 0’85mm, realizamos el talado donde queremos se coloque la salida del agua.

He utilizado una broca algo superior al diámetro del nylon, ya que mi experiencia me demuestra que dependiendo de la temperatura y de la no-perfección del fabricante, el diámetro del nylon puede variar ligeramente, por lo que si practicamos un taladro del 0’8, muy posiblemente, casi seguro, que el trozo de nylon no entre en el agujero realizado.

With a manual drill with drill of 0'85mm, we carry out the felling where we want to place the water outlet.

Enganchamos con cianocrilato el extremo del nylon que colocaremos en el agujero reaizado.

Como estamos en un espacio un tanto complicado para trabajar, impregno la punta de un palillo de cianocrilato y aplico este, en la cantidad necesaria en el extremo del nylon, antes de colocarlo en el agujero practicado.

Una vez colocadas las piezas de nylon en su posición, ya tenemos la estructura de la fuente terminada.

Ya sólo falta aplicar gel efecto agua y gotas de agua salpicando, para que el realismo sea aun mejor.

As we are in a somewhat complicated space to work, I impregnate the tip of a cyanoacrylate stick and apply this, in the necessary amount at the end of the nylon, before placing it in the hole practiced.

Once the nylon pieces are placed in their position, we have the structure of the finished source.
Now we just need to apply gel water effect and splashing water drops, so that the realism is even better.
