El próximo sábado, día 9 de marzo de este 2019, con los
compañeros del club +1 al Dau, vamos a la jornada “Un Mar de Jocs” (Un mar de juegos), en
el 250 aniversario de la
Facultat de Nàutica de Barcelona.
Next Saturday, March 9th of this 2019, with the
teammates of the club +1 al Dau, we
go to the "Un Mar de Jocs" (A sea of games) day, in the 250th anniversary of the
Faculty of Nautical Studies of Barcelona .
La jornada contará con juegos y wargames relacionados con el
mar. Nosotros llevamos la batalla de Arsuf.
En ella, Ricardo Corazón de León, mientras avanzaba hacia el
sur desde Cesarea, dirección Jaffa, apoyado logísticamente por una pequeña
flota de barcos, que navegaban a la misma velocidad que las tropas.
Saladino da caza al ejército cruzado en Arsuf, y pensando que la sorpresa estaba de su
parte, se lanzó en pos de los cristianos, más con coraje que con una táctica
clara.
Los barcos de esa pequeña flota influiría en el quehacer de
la batalla y Saladino se retiraría. Pero tras las inmensas bajas de ambos ejércitos,
Saladino y Ricardo tuvieron que hacer una negociación, en la que ambos salieron
ganando: libre paso de los comerciantes cristianos por Palestina y Jerusalén
bajo el mandato de Saladino.
Y para poder recrear la batalla, necesitamos unos barcos
para poder realizar las tareas de movimiento de tropas, si es necesario, entre
el sur y el norte de las líneas cristianas.
The day will feature games and wargames related
to the sea. We carry the battle of Arsuf.
In it, Ricardo Corazón de León, while advancing
south from Caesarea, towards Jaffa, supported logistically by a small fleet of
ships, which sailed at the same speed as the troops.
Saladin hunts the crossed army in Arsuf, and
thinking that the surprise was on his side, he launched himself after the
Christians, more with courage than with a clear tactic.
The ships of that small fleet would influence
the task of the battle and Saladino would retire. But after the immense losses
of both armies, Saladino and Ricardo had to make a negotiation, in which both
left winning: free step of the Christian retailers by Palestine and Jerusalem
under the mandate of Saladino.
And in order to recreate the battle, we need
some ships to be able to carry out the task of moving troops, if necessary,
between the south and the north of the Christian lines.
Como serán unos barcos que rara vez se volverán a utilizar, se
ha optado por hacerlas de Paper Model.
Para ello se ha localizado una carabelas a escala 1/1200, más
o menos, y se han impreso sobre cartón.
As they will be boats that will rarely be used
again, we have chosen to make them from Paper Model.
To this end, caravels have been located on a
scale of 1/1200, more or less, and printed on cardboard.
Con ese plano se han montado 6 carabelas, y los mástiles son
de palillos para alimentación.
With that plane 6 caravels have been mounted,
and the masts are sticks for food.
Una vez montado, los bordes visibles del cartón, que son
blancos, se pintan con un rotulador marrón, del color de la madera.
Once assembled, the visible edges of the
cardboard, which are white, are painted with a brown marker, the color of the
wood.
Y se pintan las velas por detrás con Blanco Hueso (Game
Color 034) y los mástiles con Marrón Bicho (Game Color 043).
And the candles are painted from behind with
Blanco Bone (Game Color 034) and the masts with Brown Bicho (Game Color 043).
Durante todo el proceso de montaje del primer navío, se
comprueba si cabe en una peana de 40x40mm, que es el tamaño en el que debe ir.
During the entire assembly process of the first
vessel, it is checked whether it fits on a 40x40mm base, which is the size at
which it should go.
Se procede de la misma forma con los 6 barcos a construir.
Proceed in the same way with the 6 ships to be
built.
No se explica como construirlas, ya que es tan sencillo como
recortar con tijeras o cúter, y enganchar con cola para papel, como el
pegamento universal usado por los niños en la escuela.
It is not explained how to build them, since it
is as simple as cutting with scissors or a cutter, and hooking with paper glue,
like the universal glue used by children at school.
Terminados los barcos, se debe preparar las peanas.
Estas son de 40x40mm, como ya se ha indicado.
En nuestro caso son placas de plástico, pero pueden ser de
cartón grueso, PlasticCard o madera. Es indiferente.
Once the boats are finished, the bases must be
prepared.
These are 40x40mm, as already indicated.
In our case they are plastic plates, but they
can be made of thick cardboard, PlasticCard or wood. It is indifferent.
Para realizar el efecto de agua de mar, se ha utilizado una
técnica que hace tiempo vi por internet y que, para la escala y tamaño de la
peana, el resultado creo que será óptimo.
Para ello utilizo papel de aluminio.
To make the effect of seawater, we have used a
technique that I have seen on the internet for a long time and that, for the
scale and size of the base, the result I think will be optimal.
For this I use aluminum foil.
Que se arruga hasta casi convertirlo en una bolita de
aluminio.
That wrinkles until almost turning it into an
aluminum ball.
No es aconsejado arrugarlo en exceso, ya que después debemos
desplegar el papel de aluminio, ya que nos interesa que quede totalmente
arrugado.
It is not advisable to wrinkle excessively,
since afterwards we must unfold the aluminum foil, since we want it to be
totally wrinkled.
Este papel de aluminio arrugado, se encolará a la peana con
la cola universal.
This wrinkled aluminum foil will be glued to
the base with the universal glue.
El trozo de papel de aluminio debe ser bastante más grande
que la peana, ya que al arrugarla “encoge”.
The piece of aluminum foil should be much
larger than the base, since when crumpling it "shrinks".
Cuando esté bien seca, se recorta el exceso de aluminio y se
determina la posición del barco en cada peana, ya que debemos dejar más liso
esta parte, tanto para recrear la estela del barco, como para que no tengamos
problemas posteriormente al enganchar el navío.
When it is well dry, the excess aluminum is
trimmed and the position of the boat on each stand is determined, since we must
leave this part smoother, both to recreate the ship's wake, so that we do not
have problems later on when the vessel is hooked .
Con la posición del barco alisada, se procede a imprimar.
Esto es necesario, ya que si se aplica posteriormente la
pintura sobre el aluminio arrugado sin imprimar, la pintura saltará.
With the position of the boat smoothed, it
proceeds to print.
This is necessary, because if the paint is
subsequently applied on the wrinkled aluminum without priming, the paint will
jump.
Con la imprimación también se consigue rigidizar un poco el
papel de aluminio.
With the primer it is also possible to stiffen
the aluminum foil a little.
Con la imprimación seca, se ha dado una capa base no uniforme
de Azul (Model Air 004), con aerógrafo. Digo “no uniforme”, ya que incido más
en unas zonas que en otras, para crear diferentes tonos de azul.
With the dry primer, a non-uniform base coat of
Blue (Model Air 004), with airbrush, was given. I say "not uniform",
because I influence more in some areas than in others, to create different
shades of blue.
A pincel semi seco, se aplica Azul Medio (Model Color
963-057), para iluminar las olas.
With a semi dry brush, Medium Blue (Model Color
963-057) is applied to illuminate the waves.
Después se aplica también a pincel semi seco el Azul Mágico
(Game Color 021), pero de una forma un más suave, para iluminar sólo la parte
de arriba de las olas.
Then the Magic Blue (Game Color 021) is applied
to a semi-dry brush, but in a softer way, to illuminate only the upper part of
the waves.
Por último se aplica el Azul Eléctrico (Game Color 023), a
pincel seco, para iluminar sólo las crestas de las olas.
Finally the Electric Blue (Game Color 023) is
applied, with a dry brush, to illuminate only the crests of the waves.
Ya tenemos el mar pintado.
Ahora se utiliza el Gris Plateado (Model Color 883-152),
para dar el primer efecto de espuma.
Este color se aplica alrededor de la marca que se realizó
anteriormente, indicando donde irá el barco, y algunas crestas de olas
cercanas.
We already have the sea painted.
Silver Gray (Model Color 883-152) is now used
to give the first foam effect.
This color is applied around the mark that was
made previously, indicating where the ship will go, and some crests of nearby
waves.
Y como toque final y también en pincel semi seco, se aplica
blanco (Model Color 951-001), para intensificar la zona de la espuma.
And as a final touch and also in a semi-dry
brush, white (Model Color 951-001) is applied, to intensify the area of the
foam.
El pintado del mar ya está casi terminado.
The painting of the sea is almost finished.
Ahora se colocan los barcos en la peana.
Now the boats are placed in the base.
Se vuelve a aplicar el Gris Plateado para cubrir las zonas
entre el barco y lo último pintado, y se añaden unas líneas diagonales en proa
y a mitad del barco, a modo de estelas del movimiento de este sobre el agua.
The Silver Gray is reapplied to cover the areas
between the boat and the last painted, and diagonal lines are added in the bow
and in the middle of the boat, as stelae of the movement of this over the
water.
Sobre el gris, se añade blanco.
On the gray, white is added.
Con toda esta pintura, el agua queda totalmente mate, por lo
que aplicamos barniz brillante p triple brillante en la peana.
With all this paint, the water is completely
matte, so we apply brilliant triple gloss varnish on the base.
Por último, se coloca Efecto Espuma (Diorama Effect 231) en
las crestas de donde se ha pintado blanco, dando una sensación muy buena de
espuma.
Finally, Foam Effect (Diorama Effect 231) is
placed on the crests where white has been painted, giving a very good foam
feeling.
Y ya están terminados nuestros barcos para el combate.
And our ships are already finished for combat.
