Sherman USA Normandía - Continuación

En la parte 1 del pintado de los Sherman, expliqué como he hecho las Graduaciones de Luces.

Ahora le toca el turno a terminar de pintar los blindados, a falta de los envejecimientos (Weathering).

Y lo primero que he hecho, ha sido pintar la goma de las ruedas de los Boggies, con Caucho Oscuro (Panzer Aces 306).

In part 1 of the Sherman's painting, I explained how I did the Graduations of Lights.
Now it is his turn to finish painting the armored vehicles, in the absence of aging (Weathering).
And the first thing I did, was to paint the rubber on the wheels of the Boggies, with Dark Rubber (Panzer Aces 306).

No aplico luces de ningún tipo, ya que en una fase posterior, ensuciaré esta zona, por lo que no se notaría el trabajo de iluminación.

Las orugas de los tanques los he pintado con el Imprimación de Orugas (Panzer Aces 304).

I do not apply lights of any kind, since at a later stage, I will dirty this area, so I would not notice the lighting work.
The tank tracks have been painted with the Tracks Primer (Panzer Aces 304).

He decidido pintar todos los periscopios de los Sherman, utilizando el azul Periscopio (Panzer Aces 309), especialmente diseñado para estos cristales.

I have decided to paint all the periscopes of the Shermans, using the blue Periscope (Panzer Aces 309), specially designed for these crystals.

Cuando llego a este punto, me percato que las rejillas de ventilación de los motores, están “demasiado verdes”, por lo que opto por hacer una mezcla de Verde Oliva (Liquid Acrylic 816), al 50% con Negro (Liquid Acrylic 824), diluida como si fuese un wash.

En esta ocasión, en vez de utilizar un wash, he preferido crearlo yo con una acrílica que tiene Vallejo en la gama para Bellas Artes.

When I reach this point, I notice that the ventilation grilles of the engines are "too green", so I choose to make a mixture of Olive Geen (Liquid Acrylic 816), at 50% with Black (Liquid Acrylic 824 ), diluted as if it were a wash.
On this occasion, instead of using a wash, I preferred to create it myself with an acrylic that Vallejo has in the range for Fine Arts.

Este producto originalmente fue diseñado para aerógrafo. El motivo de usarlo para esto es justamente por su alto contenido de pigmento, para que no tenga que aplicar varias capas de wash.

This product was originally designed for airbrushing. The reason for using it for this is precisely because of its high pigment content, so you do not have to apply several layers of wash.

Los tanques en si ya están terminados… bueno, a falta de todos los accesorios y complementos.

He empezado pintando los macutos que alguna torreta de los tanques llevan.

Para ello he utilizado el Gris Verdoso, color original de este equipo, y aplicadas luces aclarando con blanco, ya que quiero que tengan mucho contraste.

The tanks themselves are already finished ... well, in the absence of all the accessories and accessories.
I started by painting the backpacks that some tank turret carry.
For this I have used the Greenish Gray, the original color of this equipment, and applied lights by lightening with white, since I want them to have a lot of contrast.

Para las correas de cierre de los macutos, he utilizado el Correa de Cuero (Panzer Aces 312).

For the closing straps of the backpacks, I used the Leather Strap (Panzer Aces 312).

Los Jerrycans y los bidones, solían estar pintados de Marrón Violeta (Model Color 887 – 093), del mismo color que los cascos de los soldados. Es un color muy similar al verde base utilizado para los tanques, pero algo más violeta.

Y para que se vea una mayor diferencia, he optado por aplicar luces con pincel seco, mezclando el Marrón Violeta con blanco.

The Jerrycans and drums, used to be painted in Violet Brown (Model Color 887 - 093), the same color as the helmets of the soldiers. It is a color very similar to the green base used for tanks, but something more violet.
And to see a greater difference, I chose to apply lights with a dry brush, mixing the Violet Brown with white.

Para la madera de las herramientas afianzadas en los cuerpos de los tanques he usado Madera Vieja (Panzer Aces 310).

For the wood of the tools anchored in the bodies of the tanks I used Old Wood (Panzer Aces 310).

Para las cajas de municiones y similares, he utilizado el Tierra Mate (Model Color 983 – 143), iluminado con pincel seco del color base con blanco.

For the boxes of ammunition and the like, I used the Mate Earth (Model Color 983 - 143), lit with a dry brush of the base color with white.

Para las maderas laterales que he creado en dos de los tanques, he utilizado el Madera Vieja, usado ya en las herramientas, aclarado con un pincel seco de Madera Nueva (Panzer Aces 311), las sombras las he realizado aplicando Lavado Marrón Oscuro (Model Wash 514) y el efecto final de madera quemada por el sol, he aplicado Gris Marina (Model Color 991 – 159).

For the side woods that I created in two of the tanks, I used the Old Wood, already used in the tools, rinsed with a dry brush of New Wood (Panzer Aces 311), the shadows have been applied by applying Dark Brown Wash (Model Wash 514) and the final effect of wood burned by the sun, I applied Navy Gray (Model Color 991 - 159).

He aplicado una nota de color, ya que las hachas de estos vehículos, al igual que en los alemanes, llevaban la hoja pintada de rojo, para evitar que la tripulación se hiciesen daño involuntariamente. Para ello he usado el Rojo Mate (Model Color 957 – 0312) y para las luces el Naranja (Model Color 956 – 025).

Si en vez de Sherman estuviese pintando tranques alemanes, también pintaría en rojo el extintor que siempre llevaban en el exterior. Los Sherman, curiosamente, no llevaban extintores; supongo que por eso les llamaban Ronson (marca de los mecheros que se suministraba a los soldados americanos, el Zippo es de la época de Vietnam) o “Hace viudas”, ya que prendían rápidamente la gasolina que llevaban en los 3 a 5 depósitos de gasolina repartidos por el interior del habitáculo del tanque, incluso en algún modelo, el conductor iba sentado sobre uno de ellos.

I applied a note of color, since the axes of these vehicles, as in the Germans, had the blade painted red, to prevent the crew from harming themselves involuntarily. For this I used the Matte Red (Model Color 957 - 0312) and for the lights the Orange (Model Color 956 - 025).
If, instead of Sherman, he were painting German dams, he would also paint the fire extinguisher they always carried outside in red. The Shermans, curiously, did not carry fire extinguishers; I guess that's why they called them Ronson (brand of lighters that was supplied to American soldiers, the Zippo is from the time of Vietnam) or "Widows ago", as they quickly turned on the gasoline they carried in the 3 to 5 deposits of gasoline distributed inside the interior of the tank, even in some model, the driver was sitting on one of them.

El pintado de las lonas inicialmente utilicé el color “Lona”. Aunque es el color correcto para las lonas que llevaban estos tanques originalmente, el efecto visual es tan malo que ni se aprecia que sea diferente al cuerpo del tanque, por ello he optado por aplicar para color base el Marrón Caqui (Model Color 988 – 115). Después de este color y en pincel semiseco, he aplicado Al. Cam. Ocre naranja (Model Color 824 – 128), para dar un efecto de lona gastada, y al final, en pincel seco, he aplicado Blanco Hueso (Game Color 034).

The painting of the canvases initially I used the color "Canvas". Although it is the correct color for the tarpaulins that these tanks originally wore, the visual effect is so bad that it is not appreciated that it is different from the body of the tank, so I have chosen to apply the Khaki Brown base color (Model Color 988 - 115 ). After this color and in a semi-dry brush, I applied Al. Cam. Ocher Orange (Model Color 824 - 128), to give an effect of worn canvas, and finally, in dry brush, I applied White Bone (Game Color 034).

La parte metálica de las herramientas han sido pintadas de Gun Metal (Model Color 863 – 179) y aplicado un punto de luz con Plata (Game Color 052).

The metal part of the tools have been painted Gun Metal (Model Color 863 - 179) and applied a point of light with Silver (Game Color 052).

Para las ametralladoras de Hull y de torreta, he optado por aplicar Negro (Model Color 950 – 169) como color base, vuelvo a utilizar el Gun Metal para pincel seco sobre ellos y, en el caso de las .50 CAL, los mangos de los asideros del disparador, en color Madera Nueva, utilizado anteriormente.

For the machine guns of Hull and Turret, I have chosen to apply Black (Model Color 950 - 169) as the base color, I reuse the Gun Metal for dry brush on them and, in the case of the .50 CAL, the handles of the trigger handles, in New Wood color, previously used.

Y Por último, aplico Correa de Cuero para los enganches de las herramientas y las lonas.

And finally, I apply leather strap for the hooks of the tools and the canvas.

Los tanques, a falta del tripulante y las calcomanías, ya pueden ser usados para partidas. Pero yo quiero darles un aspecto de uso, de llevar semanas en el frente, sin pasar por mantenimiento.

The tanks, in the absence of the crewmember and the decals, can now be used for games. But I want to give them an aspect of use, of taking weeks on the front, without going through maintenance.
