[15mm] Iberian Allied Generals for Historic
Estoy preparando un ejército íbero para una jornada de
ambientación romana.
Otro de los compañeros traerá los romanos con los que se
enfrentarán mis íberos.
Pero eso ya lo contaré una vez haya pasado el evento.
I am preparing an Iberian army for a day of
Roman setting.
Another of the companions will bring the Romans
with whom my Iberians will face.
But I'll tell you that once the event has
passed.
Hace ya unos años, pinte un
grupo de íberos, para jugar partidas a 100 ptos con el reglamento DBMM.
Inicialmente debería haber sido un ejército para mi hija
mayor, pero al final, ampliándolo a más de 500 ptos., ha acabado como mi
ejército de DBMM.
Para completar ese ejército de 100 ptos que tengo pintado,
he decidido empezar por los generales. Se podía haber empezado por cualquier
otro tipo de figura, pero es un grupo reducido y me permitirá comprobar si los
colores elegidos en su día son correctos o no.
A few years ago, I painted a group of Iberians, to play games at 100 points with
the DBMM regulation.
Initially it should have been an army for my
eldest daughter, but in the end, extending it to more than 500 points, it has
ended up as my DBMM army.
To complete that army of 100 ptos that I have
painted, I have decided to start with the generals. It could have started with
any other type of figure, but it is a small group and it will allow me to check
if the colors chosen in their day are correct or not.
Los Generales - The generals
Tenemos un general en jefe pintado, pero ahora se tiene que
pintar 3 generales aliados.
Estos generales se han montado en sus correspondientes
caballos y se les ha añadido los escudos.
Se han montado cada uno sobre un soporte para su pintado y
que facilite su manipulación.
We have a general in chief painted, but now we
have to paint 3 general allies.
These generals have mounted on their horses and
the shields have been added.
Each one has been mounted on a support for painting
and to facilitate its manipulation.
Una de las miniaturas está más o menos bien pintada, por lo
que no se repinta y sólo se le realizarán unos retoques.
One of the miniatures is more or less well
painted, so it is not repainted and only a touch up will be made.
Imprimación y
carne - Primer and skin
Parte de estos grupos de generales ya estaban imprimados en
negro, de hacía bastantes años.
Pero uno de los grupos está sin imprimar, por lo que se
realiza un imprimado con el gris en Spray 28011 de Vallejo.
Part of these groups of generals were already
primed in black, of many years ago.
But one of the groups is unprimed, so it is
primed with gray in Spray 28011 from Vallejo.
Para el pintado de carne se ha utilizado:
- Carne Dorada (Model Color 845 – 020), como color base e
iluminación final.
- Lavado Carne (Game Color Wash 204), para las sombras.
For the painting of meat it has been used:
- Golden Meat (Model Color 845 - 020), as base
color and final lighting.
- Meat Wash (Game Color Wash 204), for shadows.
Se aplicar el color carne dorada a caras, manos, brazos y
piernas.
Posteriormente se aplica el lavado carne a toda las zonas
pintadas de color carne. Esto hace que el color carne inicial se oscurezca y
que el lavado se deposite en las depresiones de la miniatura.
Por último aplico de nuevo el color carne dorada, pero sólo
en las zonas que se consideré que se deben iluminar.
The golden flesh color is applied to faces,
hands, arms and legs.
Afterwards the meat washing is applied to all
the painted areas of flesh color. This causes the initial flesh color to darken
and the wash to deposit in the miniature depressions.
Finally I apply the golden flesh color again,
but only in the areas that were considered to be illuminated.
Caballos - Horses
Para el pintado de los caballos se ha utilizado:
- Marrón Chocolate (Model Color 872 – 149), como color base
de caballos marrón oscuro, para sombra de los caballos marrón claro y color
canela.
- Tierra Mate (Model Color 983 – 143), como color base de
los caballos marrón claro y para luces de los de color marrón oscuro.
- Gris Negro (Model Color 862 – 168), como color base del
caballo negro.
- Gris marina (Model Color 991 – 159), como color base del
caballo gris y para sombra del caballo blanco.
- Gris Plateado (Model Color 883 – 152), como color base del
caballo blanco y para luces del caballo gris.
- Marrón Cuero (Game Color 040), como color base del caballo
canela.
- Al. Cam. Pardo Negro (Model Color 822-150), para sombras
del caballo marrón Oscuro.
- Negro (Model Color 950 – 169), para sombras del caballo
negro.
- Gris Oscuro (Model Color 994 – 166), para sombras caballo
gris y luces del caballo negro.
- Tierra oscura (Model Color 874 – 134), para luces de los
caballos marrón claro.
- Blanco (Model Color 951 – 001), para luces del caballo
blanco.
- Marrón Podrido (Game Color 037), para luces del caballo
canela.
For the painting of horses, the following has
been used:
- Chocolate Brown (Model Color 872 - 149), as a
base color of dark brown horses, to shade the horses light brown and tan.
- Mate Earth (Model Color 983 - 143), as the
base color of light brown horses and for lights of dark brown horses.
- Black Gray (Model Color 862 - 168), as the
base color of the black horse.
- Navy gray (Model Color 991 - 159), as the
base color of the gray horse and for the shadow of the white horse.
- Silver Gray (Model Color 883 - 152), as base
color of the white horse and for lights of the gray horse.
- Brown Leather (Game Color 040), as the base
color of the cinnamon horse.
- Al. Cam. Brown Black (Model Color 822-150),
for shadows of the dark brown horse.
- Black (Model Color 950 - 169), for shadows of
the black horse.
- Dark Gray (Model Color 994 - 166), for gray
horse shadows and black horse lights.
- Dark Earth (Model Color 874 - 134), for light
brown horse lights.
- White (Model Color 951 - 001), for lights of
the white horse.
- Brown Rotten (Game Color 037), for lights of
the cinnamon horse.
Se aplica el color base como color plano.
Después se aplica el color oscuro diluido al 60%, para que
fluya bien en las depresiones de la miniatura.
Por último se aplica la luz, también diluido al 60% (o un
poco más), caso a modo de veladura, para que no se marquen en exceso las luces
en el caballo. La piel del caballo se debe tratar como si se tratase de una
miniatura desnuda, no como si fuera ropa, un carromato o un edificio.
The base color is applied as a flat color.
Then apply the dark color diluted to 60%, so
that it flows well in the depressions of the miniature.
Finally, the light is applied, also diluted to
60% (or a little more), as a glaze, so that the lights on the horse are not
marked excessively. The skin of the horse should be treated as if it were a
naked miniature, not as if it were clothes, a wagon or a building.

Para el correaje y resto de elementos del caballo, se ha
utilizado:
- Cuero Rojo (Model Color 818 – 136), como color base de los
cueros del correaje.
- Gris Plateado (Model Color 883 – 152), como color base de
la manta.
- Rojo Mate (Model Color 957 – 031), como color base de los
flecos, cenefa de la manta y otros adornos.
- Lavado Sombra (Game Color Wash 203), para la sombra de los
correajes, flecos y otros adornos.
- Carne Dorada (Model color 845 – 020), para las luces de
los cueros, mezclando entre el 10 y 40% con color Cuero Rojo.
- Blanco (Model Color 951 – 001), para las luces de la
manta.
- Naranja (Model Color 956 – 025), para las luces del color
rojo.
For the harness and other elements of the
horse, it has been used:
- Red Leather (Model Color 818 - 136), as the
base color of the leathers of the harness.
- Silver Gray (Model Color 883 - 152), as base
color of the blanket.
- Matte Red (Model Color 957 - 031), as the
base color of the fringes, valance of the blanket and other decorations.

shade of the straps, fringes and other ornaments.

lights of the leathers, mixing between 10 and 40% with Red Leather color.

Se aplica antes de pintar al jinete, los metales que lleva
el caballo.
It is applied before painting the rider, the
metals that the horse carries.
Para ello se utilizan:
- Dorado Glorioso (Game Color 055), para adornos dorados.
- Acero Engradaso (Model Color 865 – 177), para piezas de
metal.
- Aluminio (Model Air 062), para las luces del color acero.
For this, they use:
- Glorious Gold (Game Color 055), for golden
ornaments.
- Engraved Steel (Model Color 865 - 177), for
metal parts.
- Aluminum (Model Air 062), for steel color
lights.
Blusa y Capa - Blouse and Cloak
El pintado del ropaje de los íberos puede ser variopinto y
algo caótico.
Pero se ha optado por una uniformidad homogénea, por lo que
se pintará prácticamente a todas las unidades con blusón blanco y capa roja, en
los mandos.
Para ello se ha utilizado los siguientes colores:
- Gris plateado (Model Color 883 – 152), como color base de
la blusa blanca y para la cenega de las capas rojas. Hay que tener en cuenta
que si pintamos de blanco la blusa, después no se le pueden aplicar luces, por
lo que quedaría una prenda muy plana.
- Rojo Mate (Model Color 957 – 031), como color base de las
capas de los mandos.
- Gris Marina (Model Color 991 – 159), para sombras de la
blusa.
- Rojo tostado (Model Color 814 – 034), para sombras del
rojo mate.
- Blanco (Model Color 951 – 001), para luces blusa.
- Naranja (Model color 956 – 025), para luces del rojo.
The painting of the Iberians' clothing can be
varied and somewhat chaotic.
But we have opted for a homogeneous uniformity,
so we will paint practically all the units with white blouse and red cape, in
the controls.
For this, the following colors have been used:
- Silver gray (Model Color 883 - 152), as the
base color of the white blouse and for the red layered skirt. You have to take
into account that if you paint your blouse white, then you can not apply
lights, so it would be a very flat garment.
- Matte Red (Model Color 957 - 031), as the
base color of the layers of the controls.
- Navy Gray (Model Color 991 - 159), for shades
of the blouse.
- Toasted red (Model Color 814 - 034), for
shades of matt red.
- White (Model Color 951 - 001), for blouse
lights.
- Orange (Model color 956 - 025), for red
lights.
La blusa blanca se pinta con el color base Gris Plateado, se
aplican sombras con el Gris Marina y las luces con el Blanco.
Los detalles como cuello y cenefa de puños y bajos de la
blusa, se aplican con los rojos.
The white blouse is painted with the base color
Silver Gray, shades are applied with the Navy Gray and the lights with the
White.
The details as neck and valance of cuffs and
low of the blouse, are applied with the red ones.
Para la capa del mando, se aplica en los tonos rojos. La
cenefa no se aplica con blanco, ya que no se quiere que resalte en exceso, por
lo que se aplica con el gris más claro.
For the command layer, it is applied in red
tones. The border does not apply with white, since it is not wanted that it
emphasizes in excess, reason why it is applied with the lighter gray.
Pantalones - Pants
El pantalón verde se ha pintado:
- Oliva Amarillo (Model Color 892 – 087), como color base.
- Verde Negro (Model Color 980 – 100), para las sombras.
- Verde Goblin (Game Color 030), para las luces.
The green trousers have been painted:
- Yellow Olive (Model Color 892 - 087), as the
base color.
- Black Green (Model Color 980 - 100), for
shadows.
- Green Goblin (Game Color 030), for lights.
Para el pantalón azul, se ha usado:
- Azul Medio (Model Color 963 – 057), como color base.
- Tinta Azul (Game Color Ink 088), para las sombras.
- Azul mágico (Game Color 021), para las luces.
For the blue pants, it has been used:
- Medium Blue (Model Color 963 - 057), as the
base color.
- Blue Ink (Game Color Ink 088), for shadows.
- Magic blue (Game Color 021), for the lights.
Y el pantalón marrón se pinta:
- Marrón Chocolate (Mocel Color 872 – 149), como color base.
- Al. Cam. Pardo Negro (Model Color 822 – 150), para las
sombras.
- Uniforme Inglés (Model Color 921 – 141), para las luces.
And the brown pants are painted:
- Chocolate Brown (Mocel Color 872 - 149), as
the base color.
- Al. Cam. Brown Black (Model Color 822 - 150),
for shadows.
- English uniform (Model Color 921 - 141), for
lights.
Escudos y Metales - Shields and Metals
Para los escudos, mejor ver imágenes de escudos íberos y
dejar copiar algún diseño.
For the shields, better to see images of
Iberian shields and let copy some design.
Por ejemplo, un escudo azul, con un rombo rojo.
For example, a blue shield, with a red rhombus.
Escudo amarillo, con rombo marrón.
Yellow shield, with brown rhombus.
Escudo marrón oscuro, con motivos naranjas (no, yo no pinto
en negro, si no es necesario).
Dark brown shield, with orange motifs (no, I do
not paint in black, only if necessary I use black).
Otro marrón oscuro, con centro azul y motivos amarillos.
Another dark brown, with blue center and yellow
motifs.
Para los metales, como armas, cascos y refuerzos de escudos
rectangulares, se ha usado básicamente:
- Bronce Pulido (Game Color 058), para el protector de los
escudos redondos, elemento musical y algún casco.
- Acero Engrasado (Model Color 865 – 177), para los
refuerzos de los escudos alargados, algún casco y todas las espadas.
- Aluminio (Model Air 062), para las luces/brillo de las
espadas.
- Dorado Pulido (Game Color 055), para los adornos dorados e
insignia del estandarte.
For metals, such as weapons, helmets and
reinforcements of rectangular shields, it has been basically used:
- Polished Bronze (Game Color 058), for the
protector of the round shields, musical element and some helmet.
- Oiled Steel (Model Color 865 - 177), for the
reinforcements of the elongated shields, some helmet and all the swords.
- Aluminum (Model Air 062), for the lights /
brightness of the swords.
- Polished Gold (Game Color 055), for the
golden ornaments and insignia of the standard.
Correaje de los
soldados - Correaje of the soldiers
Para el correaje se han utilizado los mismos colores que
para el correaje de los caballos:
- Cuero Rojo (Model Color 818 – 136), como color base.
- Lavado Sombra (Game Color Wash 203), para la sombra.
- Carne Dorada (Model color 845 – 020), para las luces.
For the harness, the same colors as for the
harness of the horses have been used:

Estandartes - Banners
La indicación del tipo de estandarte que llevaban los
íberos, no está clara, ya que algunos dibujos aparecen con un estandarte de
colores vivo, pero sin motivo central, y en otros, solo con la imagen en la
parte superior del mástil.
The indication of the type of banner worn by
the Iberians, is not clear, since some drawings appear with a banner of bright
colors, but no central reason, and in others, only with the image on the top of
the mast.
En cambio, para los celtas y celtíberos de la misma época, sí
que hay muchas imágenes con estos distintivos de tela.
Por ello he determinado que estos íberos también van a
llevar estandarte.
Y para ello he creado una hoja con estandartes más o menos
de la época, y que me han gustado.
On the other hand, for the Celts and
Celtiberians of the same period, there are many images with these fabric
badges.
That is why I have determined that these
Iberians are also going to carry a banner.
And for this I have created a leaf with banners
more or less of the time, and that I have liked.
Al primero que se le pone un estandarte, ha sido al C-in-C
que ya se tenía montado.
The first one that gets a banner, has been the

A los otros tres estandartes de los generales aliados, se ha
colocado estandartes similares, para que se vean que pertenecen más o menos al
mismo pueblo o clan.

Peanas - Bases
Para las peanas, sigo utilizando el mismo material que en
las unidades que ya se tenía pintadas.
Para ello se ha vuelto a utilizar PlasticCard fino,
proveniente de tarjetas de visitas y de calendarios.
Sobre este soporte, aparentemente “demasiado” flexible, con
cola blanca se aplica tierra, a ser posible mezcla de varios grosores.
Una vez tenga todos los elementos enganchados y pintados,
esa “flexibilidad” desaparece completamente
For the bases, I still use the same material as
in the units that were already painted.
To do this, Fine PlasticCard has been used
again, coming from business cards and calendars.
On this support, apparently "too"
flexible, with white glue, soil is applied, possibly mixing several
thicknesses.
Once all the elements are hooked and painted,
that "flexibility" disappears completely
Personalmente me gusta pintar, por poco que sea, el terreno,
para darle algo más de profundidad y diferencialidad.

Para ello se ha utilizado:
- Lavado Sepia (Game Color Wash 300), como filtro y sombra
inicial.
- Amarillo Piedra (Model Color 882 – 118), para la 1ª luz.
- Arena Marrón (Model Color 876 – 132), para 2ª Luz.
- Beige (Model Color 917 – 008), para 3ª luz
To do this, it has been used:
- Sepia Wash (Game Color Wash 300), as filter
and initial shade.
- Stone Yellow (Model Color 882 - 118), for the
1st light.
- Brown Sand (Model Color 876 - 132), for 2nd
Light.
- Beige (Model Color 917 - 008), for 3rd light
Una vez esté bien seca la cola de la arena enganchada, se
aplica un generoso lavado de sepia en toda la tierra.
Once the tail of the hooked sand is well dried,
a generous wash of sepia is applied throughout the land.
De nuevo, cuando el lavado esté bien seco, ya que no se
quiere que se mezclen los siguientes colores (yo aconsejo un par de horas como
poco), se aplica el Amarillo Piedra con pincel semi seco.

Con este color se ha aplicado matices verdosos al terreno.

Vegetación - Vegetation
La peana está pintada, pero queda “pobre” y sin personalidad
o carácter. Demasiado parecido a un terreno desértico.
Para ello debemos “vestir” la peana con vegetación.
Lo primero a aplicar, es microflock verde otoño, encolado
con Sceni Cement de Woodland Scenic.
The base is painted, but remains
"poor" and without personality or character. Too much like a desert
terrain.
For this we must "dress" the base
with vegetation.
The first thing to apply, is autumn green
microflock, glued with Sceni Cement from Woodland Scenic.
No se debe aplicar en toda la peana. Las batallas no se
celebraron nunca en campos de futbol.
Con cola blanca, se aplica miniflock verde, a modo de
pequeños grupos concentrados de plantas .
It should not be applied on the entire base.
The battles were never held on soccer fields.
With white glue, green miniflock is applied, as
small concentrated groups of plants.
Y finalmente, también con cola blanca, se añaden pequeñas
bolitas de flock verde oliva, en uno o dos puntos de la peana.
And finally, also with white glue, small balls
of olive green flock are added, in one or two points of the base.
Ya
están finalizadas las 4 plaquetas de mandos para los íberos.
The 4 control panels for the Iberians are
already finished.
