1/12 Wooden barrel
Tras pasar por la feria de miniaturismo, mi esposa quería
pintar un barril metálico, para darle un efecto de barril de madera.
Me pidió que le realizara la imprimación y color base con
aerógrafo, para que no se notaran las pinceladas.
Pero empecé a pintar, me emocioné y, como tenía los colores
preparados para pasárselos a ella para que lo pintara, terminé pintándolo en un
par de horas antes de cenar.
Os voy a explicar como lo he ido haciendo
After going through the miniaturization fair,
my wife wanted to paint a metal barrel, to give it a wooden barrel effect.
He asked me to do the priming and base color
with airbrush, so that brush strokes would not be noticed.
But I started painting, I got excited and, as I
had the colors ready to pass to her to paint, I finished painting it in a
couple of hours before dinner.
I'll explain how I've been doing
Esta pieza es un sacapuntas de lápices metálico, de una
colección ya más que descatalogada.
Por internet podemos encontrar imágenes que a día de hoy lo
venden para los coleccionistas.
This piece is a pencil sharpener of metallic
pencils, from a collection already more than discontinued.
Through the internet we can find images that
today are sold to collectors.
Para el pintado de esta pieza, he utilizado los colores del
se de Madera y Cuero de Vallejo.
Después de imprimar en gris con spray, aplico Marrón
Chocolate con aerógrafo como color base.
El motivo de aplicar el color más oscuro del set, es porque
quiero dar un aspecto de madera vieja y ahumada al barril.
For the painting of this piece, I used the
colors of the Wood and Leather of Vallejo.
After printing in gray with spray, I apply
Brown Chocolate with airbrush as a base color.
The reason for applying the darker color of the
set, is because I want to give a look of old and smoked wood to the barrel.
Al color base aplico lavado negro creando sombras para
realizar un efecto sutil de gradación de los colores posteriores, que también
remarcaremos posteriormente.
To the base color I apply black wash creating
shadows to realize a subtle effect of gradation of the later colors, which we
will also remark later.
Tras realizar la gradación, me percato que el frontal es
liso y no tiene grabado listones de madera.
After making the gradation, I realize that the
front is smooth and has no wood slats engraved.
Por lo que con una lanceta realizo el grabado de los
tablones.
So with a lancet made the engraving of the
planks.
En la parte trasera, que previamente había colocado una
pieza de cartón para que no se viese el agujero del sacapunta.
In the back, which had previously placed a
piece of cardboard so that you could not see the hole of the pencil.
Que también se graba para imitar los tablones traseros.
That is also marked to mimic the rear planks.
Una vez realizado estas marcas en el metal y cartón, se
vuelve a aplicar el levado negro.
Acto seguido, pinto los tablones con Uniforme Japonés,
Marrón Naranja y Tierra Mate, para dar tonos diferentes a los listones de
madera. Decido que el color dominante será el más claro.
En este punto no hace falta que sea extremadamente preciso,
ni que cubra todo de forma opaca, ya que se debe notar la gradación realizada
anteriormente con el lavado negro.
Once these marks are made on the metal and
cardboard, the black levado is reapplied.
Then, I paint the planks with Japanese Uniform,
Orange Brown and Matte Earth, to give different shades to the wooden slats. I
decide that the dominant color will be the lightest.
At this point it is not necessary to be
extremely precise, or to cover everything in an opaque way, since the gradation
previously made with black washing should be noted.
Para evitar que la pintura salte con los siguientes efectos
húmedos que aplicaré, cubro lo pintado con barniz satinado.
Se aplican filtros para oscurecer o modificar el tono de la
pintura aplicada: Patina Marrón para Uniforme Japonés, Humo como 2º filtro del
Uniforme Japonés para como 1º filtro sobre Tierra Mate y Marrón Naranja.
To avoid that the paint jumps with the
following wet effects that I will apply, I cover the painted with satin
varnish.
Filters are applied to darken or modify the
tone of the applied paint: Brown Patina for Japanese Uniform, Smoke as 2nd
filter of the Japanese Uniform for as 1st filter on Matte Earth and Orange
Brown.
Para dar luces, utilizo de nuevo los colores Uniformé
japonés, Marrón Naranja y Tierra Mate, aplicando líneas a modo de vetas de la
madera. Aprovecharé el poco grabado que tienen la pieza para ramarcar este
efecto.
To give lights, I use the colors Uniformé
Japanese, Brown Orange and Matte Earth again, applying lines like veins of
wood. I will take advantage of the little engraving that the piece has to mark
this effect more deeply.
Vuelvo a usar el color Humo, pero esta vez como filtro general para
unificar todos los tablones y bajar el tono de las luces realizadas.
I use the Smoke color again, but this time as a
filter to unify all the boards and lower the tone of the lights made.
Y también utilizo el color humo, como un lavado algo denso,
para remarcar las sombras y las separaciones de los tablones.
And I also use the smoke color, as a somewhat
dense wash, to highlight the shadows and separations of the planks.
Se pinta con Gun Metal, los refuerzos metálicos del barril,
y se realiza otro filtro con Arena Oscura, dar una apariencia de madera
ligeramente desgastada por el sol.
It is painted with Gunmetal, the metallic
reinforcements of the barrel, and another filter is made with Dark Sand, giving
an appearance of wood slightly worn by the sun.
El grifo se ha pintado con Tierra Mate y aplicadas sombras
con el color humo. No se ha aplicado ninguna luz.
The tap has been painted with Matte Earth and
applied shades with smoke color. No light has been applied.
Y este es el resultado final.
And this is the final result.
