Fanatic skeleton for
DeathBall
A few days ago, I was asked a very curious and
simple order: the realization of a skeleton.
escaramuza.
This skeleton must not wear weapons or armor at
all, since it is to make a figure that represents a fanatic spectator who has
jumped onto the field of play, for the DeathBall regulation, which will soon be
released from Vol-145, a Game that Kalthor McTavish is doing.
Kalthor has already worked creating settings
and rules for OPR (On Page Rules), which has now launched on its own first with
this game, a game in which a ball is carried and must be entered through the
rim of the opposing team. A game that reminds us more of what the ancient
Mayans played, more than any other current known game.
We hope that Kalthor will launch into other
skirmish-level games.
At the moment the game is in the final phase of
the playtesting and we have had the great luck of being the club +1 to Dau
their “guinea pigs”.
The miniature is a well-proportioned,
multi-component figure and allows for some variation in pose.
The assembly is very simple, that the arms are
placed upwards, as a movement of encouragement to your team. We proceed to the
primer, made in Grey (Spray Surface Primer 011).
The Step by Step has not been done, since it is
so simple and fast to do, that the painting has been so fast that it has not
given me much time to take the photos.
Nor do I think too many explanations are needed
to know how to do it.
I have painted it in the following way:
- Black Ink (Game Ink 094) with which all the
separations of the bones, such as the tibiae, and the ribs, among some others,
are painted to give a depth to the miniature.
- Elven meat (Game Color 098), as the base
color. It will not be applied with too much "joy", but with a fine
brush (a 1 or a 0), so as not to invade the areas already painted with black
ink.
- Shadow wash (Game Wash 203), for a
generalized wash, without any regard. It really is a somewhat thick filter that
gives a brown and dirty tone to the bones. Sepia wash can also be used. When
making a group of skeletons, to obtain different shades, these two washes can
be alternated.
- Elven meat again, but this time to apply the
first light, general, to the skeleton.
- Dirty White (Game Color 101), for the second
light, applied from the top, but much more diluted than the elven meat applied
before.
- Rotten White (Game Effect 130), for the third
light, which is applied only in the points that we consider to be of maximum
illumination, such as the bald spot of the skull, points of the clavicles,
knees and some point of the hips, hands and feet.
- Finally, Shadow Wash is applied again, but
diluted more or less to 60%, which we will apply only to the shadows of the
bones, to reinforce the previous Wash.
- Scatter Grass Ornamental Law 1,5mm (marca Noch). O sea,
Once the skeleton was painted, I made the base.
I always say that a good base is one in which
the grass should not cover the entire surface, since we can only find it on a
soccer field.
Well, this is the only case in which it will
really be a “soccer field”, so we will cover it entirely with grass.
For this, it has been used:
- Goblin Green (Game Color 030), for the base
color of the entire base, border included.
- Scatter Grass Ornamental Law 1,5mm (Noch
brand). In other words, electrostatic grass with a couple of green tones and a
red one, which looks very good for this occasion, especially if we think that
from time to time blood is “spread” across the field.
A simple little job that has not even reached
an hour of work.
