Textures
En el artículo anterior, se pudo ver como se han realizado
las fachadas
de esta torre de dados.
Y antes de pintar hace falta trabajarlo un poco más, en
especial con las texturas de las fachadas.
In the previous article, you could see how the
facades of this dice tower have been made.
And before painting it is necessary to work it
a little more, especially with the textures of the facades.
Terrado - Roof
Lo primero que se realiza, es cubrir con una lechada de
escayola sobre las piedras de construcción que se colocaron en la parte
superior de la torre, para tapar la separación entre las piezas utilizadas.
Se cubrirá todo el murete superior con esta lechada,
incidiendo especialmente en las juntas.
The first thing that is done is to cover with a
plaster grout on the construction stones that were placed on top of the tower,
to cover the gap between the pieces used.
The entire upper wall will be covered with this
grout, especially affecting the joints.
Para eliminar el exceso de escayola y dejar que la piedra se
vea, se utiliza un paño húmedo. No
hacerlo con papel, ya que este se irá deshaciendo durante el proceso y seguro
que se estropea lo ya realizado.
To remove excess plaster and let the stone
show, a damp cloth is used. Do not do it with paper, since this will be undone
during the process and it will surely spoil what has already been done.
Este proceso se ha realizado exclusivamente por la parte
exterior, ya que el interior se ha optado por dejarlo todo “encalado”.
Una vez eliminado el exceso y dejadas las piedras limpias,
el murete debe quedar así.
This process has been carried out exclusively
on the outside, since the interior has chosen to leave everything
“whitewashed”.
Once the excess has been removed and the stones
have been left clean, the wall should look like this.
Roturas de Revoco
- Plaster breaks
El revoco para la textura en las paredes de la torre, se
realizará con diferentes productos.
Pero antes de ello, se usará cinta de pintor, para cubrir
algunas pequeñas zonas de las paredes.
The plaster for the texture on the tower walls
will be made with different products.
But before that, painter's tape will be used to
cover some small areas of the walls.
En el muro del “patio de dados”, se colocarán trozos
pequeños de esta cinta, en diferentes zonas. Esta cinta evitará que cubramos
esta zona con el revoco que posteriormente realizaremos, para que se pueda ver
el grabado inferior.
Small pieces of this tape will be placed on the
wall of the “dice yard” in different areas. This tape will prevent us from
covering this area with the plaster that we will later make, so that the lower
engraving can be seen.
La cinta de pintor se irá colocando en lugares donde sería
lógico que el recubrimiento de yeso de un edificio haya saltado, normalmente
por exceso de humedad, como en la imagen inferior, o por posibles golpes
realizados con vehículos, como en la imagen superior.
The painter's tape will be placed in places
where it would be logical for the plaster covering of a building to have come
off, normally due to excess humidity, as in the image below, or due to possible
blows made with vehicles, as in the image above.
Muro Patio de
Dados - Dice Court Wall
Para el revoco exterior del muro del patio de dados, se ha
optado por dar un aspecto basto, muy característico de muros del renacimiento hasta nuestros días. Esto se
solía hacer con una fina de mortero, con cemento y arena, para hacer más
resistente las paredes.
Para ello se ha utilizado la masilla de Piedra Pómez Fina,
especial para Bellas Artes (Vallejo 598).
For the exterior plaster of the courtyard wall,
it has been chosen to give a coarse appearance, very characteristic of walls of
the Renaissance to this day. This used to be done with a fine mortar, with
cement and sand, to make the walls stronger.
For this purpose, the Pómez Fina putty, special
for Fine Arts (Vallejo 598), has been used.
Como es una masilla acrílica, se ha aplicado con pincel, que
antes de aplicarla en la pared, se habrá humedecido con agua, para que el grano
de la masilla no se vea tan denso.
As it is an acrylic putty, it has been applied
with a brush, which before applying it to the wall, it will have been moistened
with water, so that the grain of the putty does not look so dense.
Al ser acrílico, seca con relativa rapidez, dando un aspecto
final como la siguiente imagen.
Being acrylic, it dries relatively quickly,
giving a final appearance like the following image.
Esta masilla se puede pintar en unos 20 minutos, aunque si
se desea trabajar en condiciones (lijado, raspado, etc.) deberemos esperar un
par de horas.
Antes de que esté seco para el pintado, se han retirado los
trozos de cinta de pintor.
This putty can be painted in about 20 minutes,
although if you want to work in conditions (sanding, scraping, etc.) we will
have to wait a couple of hours.
Before it is dry for painting, the pieces of painter's
tape have been removed.
Al realizarlo antes del secado total, al sacar la cinta,
conseguimos que los bordes de la masilla en la cinta queden bien definidos,
como pasaría en la realidad cuando un trozo del revoco cayese y en algunas
partes se levante, dando la sensación de descascarillado.
By doing it before total drying, by removing
the tape, we get the edges of the putty on the tape to be well defined, as
would happen in reality when a piece of the plaster falls and in some parts
rises, giving the sensation of peeling.
Paredes Torre - Tower walls
En las paredes de la torre propiamente dicha, pondremos
trozos de cinta de pintor, como se ha realizado antes con el muro del patio de
dados.
On the walls of the tower itself, we will put
pieces of painter's tape, as was done before with the wall of the dice yard.
Para el recubrimiento texturado de las paredes, he optado
por utilizar estuco Aguaplast, ya que la textura que me ofrece es muy similar a
la que nos podemos encontrar en los revocos de los edificios de hace 200 años.
For the textured covering of the walls, I have
chosen to use Aguaplast stucco, since the texture it offers me is very similar
to what we can find in building plasters from 200 years ago.
Este producto se aplica mediante espátula para no dejar más
marcas que las necesarias y las que deja esta herramienta es muy aproximadas a
las que se podrían encontrar en esas paredes.
This product is applied using a spatula so as
not to leave more marks than necessary and the ones left by this tool are very
close to those that could be found on those walls.
Como el estuco utilizado es una masilla ya preparada, solo
se debe tener cuidado de colocarlo en todas las rendijas de la torre.
Torre terminada y preparada para ser pintada.
Since the stucco used is ready-made putty, care
should only be taken to place it in all the cracks in the tower.
Tower finished and ready to be painted.
Detalles del revoco con esta masilla, que seca rápida y en
cuestión de media hora ya está lista para ser trabajada de nuevo.
Obsérvese que en zonas se puede entrever las piedras de la
pared, por el escaso espesor del revoco, en otras, al retirar la cinta de
pintor, se puede ver directamente, en otras parece que parte del revoco se ha
caído.
Plaster details with this putty, which dries
quickly and in a matter of half an hour is ready to be worked again.
Note that in areas you can glimpse the stones
of the wall, due to the low thickness of the plaster, in others, when removing
the painter's tape, it can be seen directly, in others it seems that part of
the plaster has fallen.
Usando este mismo estuco, en algunas partes del muro
exterior del patio de dados, añadiremos
unos parches, a modo de reparación reciente.
Using this same stucco, in some parts of the
outer wall of the dice yard, we will add patches, as a recent repair.
Si se aplican al lado de donde se ven las piedras del muro,
más creíble será.
If applied to the side where the wall stones
are seen, the more credible it will be.
Ahora sólo falta darle una capa de pintura.
Now all that's left is to give it a coat of
paint.
