Part 8. Washes and
Filter
Vuelvo a retomar el M-163.
I return to the M-163.
En esta ocasión he aplicado los lavados y filtros, tanto a
modo de perfilados como para un efecto de arena fina acumulada en todos los
rincones del vehículo.
On this occasion, the washings and filters are
applied, both as a profile and as an effect of fine sand accumulated in every
corner of the vehicle.
El desgaste de pintura y la arena más gruesa acumulada, ya
la realizaré en otro apartado algo mas adelante.
The wear of paint and
the thicker sand accumulated, will be done in another section a little later.
Fase 1. Lavados - Washes
Para esta primera fase
de esta parte del weathering, he utilizado los siguientes elementos.
For this first phase
of this part of weathering, the following elements are used.
- Lavado Tierra Europea (Model Wash 523), para suciedad y
perfilado basto.
- Lavado Negro (Model Wash 518), para perfilado de las
rejillas motor.
- 2ª Luz (Model Air 219, perteneciente a la caja de Desert
War Zenith Transformation Set.
- Barniz Mate de Puliuretano (Auxiliar 27.651. para mate a
todo el vehículo.
- European Earth Wash (Model Wash 523), for
dirt and coarse profiling.
- Black Wash (Model Wash 518), for profiling
the motor grids.
- 2nd Light (Model Air 219, belonging to the
box of Desert War Zenith Transformation Set.
- Matte Varnish of Puliurethane (Auxiliary
27.651) to kill the entire vehicle.
El lavado negro lo aplicaré en las rejillas del motor, para
dar la sensación de profundidad y suciedad de motor. Como habíamos dejado el
modelo totalmente barnizado con cera
para parquet, este trabajo nos será muy fácil de realizar.
Acabado el negro, aplico la 2ª luz de la caja de iluminación
usada al principio, para dar más luminosidad a los bordes exteriores de las
lamas de las rejillas.
The black wash is applied on the motor grids,
to give the sensation of depth and motor dirt. Since the model was completely
varnished with parquet
wax, this work will be very easy to do.
Finishing the black, the 2nd light of the
lighting box used at the beginning is applied, to give more light to the outer
edges of the slats of the grids.
El lavado marrón lo he usado en todo cambio de plano, a modo
de perfilado, pero de una forma absolutamente basta, sin eliminar en demasía el
exceso.
El motivo es que deseo que este tono marrón se vea, aun después
de aplicar el filtro ocre que explico más adelante.
The brown wash is used in every change of
plane, as a profiling, but in an absolutely coarse way, without excessively eliminating
the excess.
The reason is that you want this brown tone to
be seen, even after applying the ocher filter that is explained later.
Aplico el marrón especialmente en las cajas de munición del
exterior del vehículo.
Como tenemos todo el vehículo con cera para parquet, este
proceso lo tengo que realizar un par de veces en todo el vehículo, incluso una
tercera, como en el caso de las cajas de munición externas.
Brown is applied especially in the ammunition
boxes on the outside of the vehicle.
As is the whole vehicle with parquet wax, this
process must be done a couple of times throughout the vehicle, including a
third, as in the case of external ammunition boxes.
Las ruedas del tren de rodaje, no están exentas de este
lavado.
Es más, en el caso de las ruedas, el trabajo lo realizo como
en las cajas de munición, para hacer resaltar el efecto suciedad que siempre tienen
estas piezas de rodaje.
The wheels of the undercarriage are not exempt
from this washing.
Moreover, in the case of wheels, the work is
done as in the ammunition boxes, to highlight the dirt effect that these pieces
of filming always have.
Con este mismo marrón he procedido de la misma forma con el
Vulcan.
With this same brown it has proceeded in the
same way with the Vulcan.
Y por último aplico el Barniz de poliuretano en todo el
vehículo.
And finally applies the polyurethane varnish
throughout the vehicle.
Fase 2. Filtro - Filter
Esta fase suelo realizarlo con óleos.
Pero en esta ocasión voy a probar unas pinturas nuevas para mí,
los Acrylic Artist Color, de Vallejo.
This phase I usually do with oils.
But this time I will try some new paintings for
me, the Acrylic Artist Color, from Vallejo.
Para ello he usado el siguiente material:
- Amarillo de Marte (Acrylic Artist Color 304), que es un ocre,
para el filtro.
- Diluyente para aerógrafo (Auxiliar 361), como diluyente
del filtro.
- Barniz Mate de Puliuretano (Auxiliar 27.651. para mate a
todo el vehículo.
For the following material is used:
- Mars Yellow (Acrylic Artist Color 304), which
is an ocher, for the filter.
- Diluent for airbrush (Auxiliary 361), as a
filter diluent.
- Matte Varnish of Puliurethane (Auxiliary
27.651) to kill the entire vehicle.
Esta pintura acrílica tienen varias peculiaridades muy
interesantes.
La primera es que se suministran en tubos del mismo tamaño y
forma que los óleos, de 20ml. Incluso se pueden adquirir en caja de 10 tubitos
básicos (Referencia 15001). Al igual que los óleos, estas pinturas sólo se
pueden adquirir, de momento, en tiendas de Bellas Artes.
Y la segunda es que su composición hace que tarde algo más
en secar que otras acrílicas, por lo que nos permite trabajar mejor con ellos.
Aunque esto es una simple anécdota.
He usado una pequeña Proción de este color para todo el
vehículo, más que suficiente para lo que deseo realizar.
This acrylic paint have several very
interesting peculiarities.
The first is that they are supplied in tubes of
the same size and shape as the oils, of 20ml. They can even be purchased in a
box of 10 basic tubes (Reference 15001). Like the oil paintings, these
paintings can only be purchased, at the moment, in Fine Arts stores.
And the second is that its composition makes it
take more time to dry than other acrylics, so it allows us to work better with
them. Although this is a simple anecdote.
I used a small portion of this color for the
entire vehicle, more than enough for what I want to do.
Y lo he aplicado en todos los recovecos y cambios de planos
del vehículo
It is applied in all the nooks and changes of
planes of the vehicle
Podemos tardar todo el tiempo que deseemos en esparcir este color
por donde queramos, no importa si se seca la pintura.
No importa porque el siguiente paso es el mismo que
realizamos cuando usamos óleos para este efecto. Uso el diluyente para
aerógrafos de Vallejo.
It can take as long as we want to spread this
color wherever we want, it does not matter if the paint dries.
It does not matter because the next step is the
same as when we use oils for this purpose. The airbrush thinner of
Vallejo is used.
Para poder trabajar bien, deposito una cantidad de este
diluyente en un pozillo de la paleta de pintura.
Y con un pincel limpio, lo empapo con el Thinner y empiezo a
difuminar el ocre aplicado anteriormente.
Y francamente, el resultado es idéntico que con los óleos, pero
sin olor y sin esperar a que, una vez terminada la técnica, debamos esperar
mínimo 12 horas.
To be able to work well, a quantity of this
diluent is deposited in one of the holes of the paint palette.
And with a clean brush, it is soaked with the
Thinner and the previously applied ocher begins to fade.
And frankly, the result is identical with the
oils, but without odor and without waiting for, once the technique is finished,
we should wait at least 12 hours, to perform the next job.
Como se puede observar, al difuminar el ocre, el lavado
marrón utilizado anteriormente se ve debajo de este color, por lo que el efecto
de suciedad acumulada es la que he ido a buscar.
Una vez terminado este “filtro”, he aplicado el barniz.
El acabado conseguido es lo buscado.
As can be seen, when the ocher is faded, the
previously used brown wash is seen under this color, so the accumulated dirt
effect is the one that has been sought.
Once this "filter" is finished, I
applied the polyurethane varnish.
The finish achieved is what you are looking
for.
Incluso en la torreta del Vulcan.
Even in the Vulcan turret.
Tengo que reconocer que con estos acrílicos se consigue el
mismo efecto que con los óleos, pero sin el olor de estos ni el uso de
diluyentes agresivos.
I have to recognize that with these acrylics
the same effect is achieved as with oils, but without the smell of these or the
use of aggressive thinners.
