En la anterior entrega de crear unas fachadas en la torre de dado, para ambientarla y para poder usarla como escenografía de 28mm en un momento dado, en este artículo hablaremos de como se han pintado los metales, los efectos de óxido y el de envejecimiento de la madera del terrado.

 

In the previous installment of creating some facades in the die tower, to set it up and to be able to use it as a 28mm scenery at any given time, in this article we will talk about how the metals have been painted, the rust effects and the aging of the wood on the roof.

 

 

Bronces – Bronze

Y lo primero que se hace es usar el color Bronce Pulido (Game Color 058), para las bisagras y sus refuerzos.

 

And the first thing that is done is to use the Brassy Brass color (Game Color 058), for the hinges and their reinforcements.

Después se ha añadido un color para perfilar y para ensuciar… bueno, se ha intentado, ya que se ha usado Agrax Earthshade (Citadel D-4236), pero no perfila. Y se ha usado debido a que conocidos que también pintan miniaturas dijeron “pruébalo, que es una pasada, no te arrepentirás y te cambiará el concepto de pintar”. Realmente es una tinta, ya que mancha allí donde toca y deja el metal absolutamente mate.  Es especialmente indicado para realizar dipping en miniaturas. Personalmente me gusta mucho el efecto que dan los lavados, por lo que esta tinta no me funciona con mi forma de pintar. El bote se ha regalado a un conocido que indica que este color lo usa exactamente para eso, para dipping.

 

Then a color has been added for outlining and dirt… well, it has been tried, since Agrax Earthshade (Citadel D-4236) has been used, but it does not outline. And it has been used because acquaintances who also paint miniatures said "try it, it's amazing, you will not regret it and it will change the concept of painting." It really is an ink, since it stains where it touches and leaves the metal absolutely matte. It is especially suitable for dipping in miniatures. Personally, I really like the effect that washes give, so this ink does not work for me with my way of painting. The pot has been given to an acquaintance who indicates that this color is used for exactly that, for dipping.

 

Como se ve en la imagen, el efecto metal bronce ha desaparecido y queda una especie de tono “raro”, más próximo a un óxido de hierro.

 

As can be seen in the image, the bronze metal effect has disappeared and a kind of "rare" tone remains, closer to an iron oxide.

Para aprovechar lo “ensuciado” y que se siga viendo el metal cobre, se ha aplicado de nuevo Bronce Pulido, por medio de la técnica de mapping, y para las luces, el color Bronce (Game Color 057), con la técnica de luces planas.

 

To take advantage of the “dirty” and to keep the copper metal visible, Brassy Brass has been applied again, by means of the mapping technique, and for the lights, the Bronze color (Game Color 057), with the lighting technique. flat.

 

Aceros - Steels

Para los remaches, tiradores de la puerta grande doble y otros elementos que deben tener color acero, se ha utilizado Acero Engrasado (Model Color 865-177), como color base.

 

For the rivets, handles of the large double door and other elements that must have a steel color, Oily Steel (Model Color 865-177) has been used as the base color.

Para el perfilado y ensuciado se ha utilizado Lavado Sepia (Game Color Wash 200).

 

Sepia Shade (Game Color Wash 200) was used for outlining and soiling.

Para aplicar las luces en el acero, se ha vuelto a utilizar el Chromo (Metal Color 707), con luz plana.

 

To apply the lights to the steel, Chromo (Metal Color 707) has been used again, with flat light.

 

Óxidos de Bronce – Bronze Rust

Para los óxidos de los bronces, se han utilizado un par de tonos de color verde.

El Verde Acorzado, Model Color 895-088), en aguada, es un buen color para el óxido de bronce antiguo.

 

For the oxides of the bronzes, a couple of shades of green have been used.

Striped Green, Model Color 895-088), in wash, is a good color for antique bronze oxide.

El Verde Asqueroso (Game Color 029), se ha utilizado para el óxido de bronce más nuevo… pero no es el color más adecuado para ello. Seguiremos buscando para las siguientes ocasiones.

 

Sick Green (Game Color 029), has been used for the newer bronze oxide… but it is not the most suitable color for it. We will continue searching for the following occasions.

 

 Óxidos de Acero – Steel Rust

Para el óxido del acero, se ha utilizado un grupo de colores que ya ha dado buen resultado en otras ocasiones.

Como se aplicará el óxido en remachues y otros elementos depequeño tamaño, se aplican los colores de óxido sin una base de textura.

Primero se aplica el Óxido Claro (Panzer Aces 301), como primer óxido, con la técnica de punteado.

 

For the steel oxide, a color group has been used that has worked well before.

Since rust will be applied to rivets and other small items, rust colors are applied without a textured base.

First, the Lithg Rust (Panzer Aces 301) is applied, as the first oxide, with the stippling technique.

Como se puede apreciar, también se han colocado pequeños (o no tan pequeños) puntos de óxido donde irían los clavos de fijación de los tablones de las puertas y ventanas.

 

As can be seen, small (or not so small) spots of rust have also been placed where the fixing nails of the door and window boards would go.

 

Se aplica un primer lavado con óxido Oscuro (Model Wash 507), con el que aplicaremos no sólo un perfilado a las piezas de acero, sino que empezaremos a hacer las primeras aguadas o chorretones, diluyendo un poco más el Wash para este último efecto.

 

A first wash is applied with Dark Rust (Model Wash 507), with which we will not only apply a profiling to the steel pieces, but we will also begin to make the first washes or drips, diluting the Wash a little more for this last effect.

Para matizar los óxidos y dar algo de profundidad, se aplica el Óxido (Model Wash 506), de la misma forma que el anterior, pero sin cubrir totalmente el anterior lavado.

 

To tone the oxides and give some depth, the Rust (Model Wash 506) is applied, in the same way as the previous one, but without completely covering the previous wash.

Y para acabar de dar matices y más profundidad a los óxidos, se aplica Óxido Claro (Model Wash 505) de la misma forma que el anterior, pero depositando pocas gotas y pigmento.

 

And to finish giving shades and more depth to the oxides, Light Rust (Model Wash 505) is applied in the same way as the previous one, but depositing few drops and pigment.

 

 

Moho – Mold

Se aplica Verde Oscuro (Model Wash 512), a modo de lavado pero con la técnica de Mapping, para dar el efecto de moho más antiguo.

 

Dark Green (Model Wash 512) is applied, by way of washing but with the Mapping technique, to give the oldest mold effect.

Este color se aplica allí donde decidamos que el agua de la lluvia se depositará, como en cualquier esquina entre la madera y la pared, y entre las piedras.

 

This color is applied wherever we decide that the rainwater will settle, as in any corner between the wood and the wall, and between the stones.

 

Para dar un poco de matiz al moho, se aplica un poco de Verde Oliva (Model Wash 519), del mismo modo que el anterior verde, pero sobre este.

 

To give a little shade to the mold, a little Olive Green (Model Wash 519) is applied, in the same way as the previous green, but over it.

 

Oxidación del Ventanuco del Sótano – Basement Window Rust

Para esta pieza, se ha optado explicarla a parte, ya que su tratamiento ha sido algo diferente, para conseguir un efecto diferente.

Lo primero que NO se hace, es aplicar color metal ni a los barrotes ni al contorno del ventanuco, ya que se pretende tenerlo completamente oxidado.

Se aplica Textura Óxido (Weathering Effet 821) a todo lo que será considerado metal.

Y después, por medio de la técnica de mapping, se aplica Óxido Claro (Panzer Aces 301)

 

For this piece, it has been chosen to explain it separately, since its treatment has been somewhat different, to achieve a different effect.

The first thing that is NOT done, is to apply metal color to the bars or to the contour of the window, since it is intended to have it completely oxidized.

Rust Texture (Weathering Effet 821) is applied to everything that will be considered metal.

And then, through the mapping technique, Light Rust is applied (Panzer Aces 301)

El último paso es con Óxido Amarillo (Panzer Aces 303), aplicar por medio de un punteado, en el centro de las manchas realizadas con el Óxido Claro.

 

The last step is with Yellow Rust (Panzer Aces 303), apply by stippling, in the center of the spots made with the Light Rust.

Si la torre de dados estuviese sobre una peana algo más grande que su base, aplicaríamos una serie de lavados con los Washes de óxido usados para el resto de acero, pero sólo sobre el suelo de la peana, a modo de continuación de chorretones.

 

If the tower of dice were on a base somewhat larger than its base, we would apply a series of washes with the oxide Washes used for the rest of the steel, but only on the floor of the base, as a continuation of drips.

 

 

Terrado – Rooftop

Terminadas completamente de pintar las fachadas de la torre, se procede a pintar el terrado.

Recordar que este contrachapado se grabó con un punzón para dar el efecto de tablones.

 

Completely finished painting the facades of the tower, we proceed to paint the roof.

Remember that this plywood was engraved with a punch to give the effect of planks.

 

Sobre la madera de contrachapado se cubre con pintura Madera Natural (Model Color 834-183), para darle una base y dar un color algo más ocre.

 

On the plywood, it is covered with Natural Woodgrain (Model Color 834-183), to give it a base and give a slightly more ocher color.

Sobre este color de Madera Natural, se van aplicando diferentes tonos madera.

El primero a aplicar es el Marrón caoba (846-139), a modo de filtro, pero diluyendo muy poco. Este color lo aplicaremos en diferentes tablones aleatorios.

 

On this Natural Woodgrain color, different wood tones are applied.

The first to apply is Mahogany Brown (846-139), as a filter, but diluting very little. We will apply this color to different random boards.

El siguiente color a aplicar es el Marrón Rojo (Model Color 982-137), que se tratará de la misma forma que el anterior, a modo de filtro poco diluido.

 

The next color to apply is Red Brown (Model Color 982-137), which will be treated in the same way as the previous one, as a slightly diluted filter.

El tercer tono de madera a aplicar es el Madera Caoba (Model Color 828-182). Este color y el Madera Natural son colores transparentes, por lo que son especialmente indicados para este tipo de trabajos para los tonos de madera, ya que el pigmento se deposita más en las ranuras creadas de imitación de la madera.

 

The third shade of wood to apply is Woodgrain (Model Color 828-182). This color and Natural Wood are transparent colors, so they are especially suitable for this type of work for wood tones, since the pigment is deposited more in the grooves created in imitation of wood.

Y el último tono es el Humo (Model Color 939-181), también transparente, que se aplicará en los tablones que faltan.

 

And the last shade is Smoke (Model Color 939-181), also transparent, which will be applied to the missing boards.

Como se puede observar no se ha tenido mucho miramiento al aplicar estos colores. Se puede hacer de forma más pausada, pero mi intención es que el tono madera natural prevaleciese en el fondo. Si se va con más miramiento, iremos más lentos y las pinturas serán menos translucidas y más opacas. A gusto del pintor.

 

As can be seen, not much care has been taken when applying these colors. It can be done more slowly, but my intention is that the natural wood tone prevail in the background. If you go more carefully, we will go slower and the paintings will be less translucent and more opaque. To the taste of the painter.

 

Una vez secos los colores, se aplica un lavado general a toda la pieza, con Lavado Negro (Game Color Wash 201), para que resalten más las divisiones entre talones y el grabado realizado imitando las vetas de la madera.

 

Once the colors are dry, a general wash is applied to the entire piece, with Black Wash (Game Color Wash 201), so that the divisions between beads and the engraving made by imitating the wood grain stand out more.

La plataforma de madera del terrado, ya empieza a tener color de madera real, ensuciado por la meteorología.

Pero aún falta mucho trabajo.

 

The wooden platform on the roof is already beginning to have the color of real wood, dirty from the weather.

But there is still a lot of work to do.

 

Para imitar el efecto que el sol imprima en la madera, quemándolo y volviéndola gris, aplicaremos una serie de pinceles semi seco, secos y filtros, pero sin llegar al tono totalmente gris de madera con mucho tiempo de exposición al sol. La intención es que se vea el color madera de los tablones.

 

To imitate the effect that the sun prints on the wood, burning it and turning it gray, we will apply a series of semi-dry and dry brushes and filters, but without reaching the totally gray tone of wood with a long time of exposure to the sun. The intention is to show the wood color of the planks.

 

Para aclarar los tonos de las maderas, se utiliza Lodo Claro (Panzer Aces 315), en técnica de pincel semi seco, con pasadas suaves. Para ello se debería utilizar un pincel blando que puede ser semi sintético, Toray, camello o de pelo de Marta.

 

To lighten the tones of the woods, Light Mud (Panzer Aces 315) is used, in a semi-dry brush technique, with soft strokes. For this, you should use a soft brush that can be semi synthetic, Toray, camel or Marta.

 

Una vez seco, se aplica un filtro con el color Humo, ya utilizado antes, para igualar los tonos aplicados hasta ahora.

 

Once dry, a filter with the Smoke color, already used before, is applied to match the tones applied so far.

Para un weathering intenso, se aplica de nuevo el Lodo Claro en pincel semi seco, seguido de Base Camuflaje Splinter (Panzer Aces 345).

 

For intense weathering, the Light Mud is applied again in a semi dry brush, followed by Splinter Camouflage Base (Panzer Aces 345).

Para dar un aspecto de humedad, se aplica Verde Oliva (Model Wash 519), a modo de moho, con técnica Mapping, en los vordes de la madera con las paredes, entre tablones de forma aleatoria y en algún punto en medio de un par de tablones.

 

To give an appearance of humidity, Olive Green (Model Wash 519) is applied, like mold, with the Mapping technique, on the edges of the wood with the walls, between planks at random and at some point in the middle of a pair of planks.

Ya tenemos los tablones envejecidos, ahora sólo falta incrementar el efecto de gastado.

 

We already have the aged planks, now we only need to increase the worn effect.

 

Para ello se aplica un Lavado Negro muy diluido. Es importante que el pigmento se quede sólo den las ranuras, no en toda la pieza.

 

For this, a very diluted Black Wash is applied. It is important that the pigment remains only in the grooves, not in the entire piece.

Sobre este lavado general en negro, se aplica en esquinas, juntas entre tablones y bordes, el Verde Oscuro (Model Wash 512).

 

On this general wash in black, Dark Green (Model Wash 512) is applied in corners, joints between planks and edges.

Se ha preferido remarcar más aun la separación entre tablones y las vetas de los tablones, los lo que se vuelve a aplicar Lavado Negro  diluido sobre el Verde Oscuro anterior.

 

It has been preferred to emphasize even more the separation between planks and the veins of the planks, which is reapplied diluted Black Wash on the previous Dark Green.

Y este es el aspecto general de como ha terminado la plataforma de madera del terrado de la torre de dados.

 

And this is the general appearance of how the wooden platform on the roof of the dice tower has finished.

 

Ya sólo queda explicar el pintado de los muros exteriores del patio de dados y la vegetación que al final se ha decidido poner.
