Con el metal al descubierto en el que termino la fase anterior, ahora debemos oxidar un poco el vehículo.

 

With the bare metal in which the previous phase ended, we must now rust the vehicle a bit.

 

 

Engine

Antes de meternos de lleno con los óxidos, se ha optado por aplicar las manchas de aceite y grasa que muchos de estos vehículos, en especial con oruga, suelen tener.

Para ello sólo usaremos 2 de los efectos que tiene Vallejo.

 

Before getting into the oxides, we have chosen to apply the oil and grease stains that many of these vehicles, especially with caterpillar, tend to have.

For this we will only use 2 of the effects that Vallejo has.

El motive de poner estos efectos antes que los óxidos es que allí donde tenemos aceite, grasa o combustible, difícilmente aparecerá óxido, a menos que ese óxido se anterior a la mancha.

 

The reason for putting these effects before oxides is that where we have oil, grease or fuel, it will hardly be possible to see rust, unless that rust is prior to the stain.

 

El efecto para la creación de manchas de combustible lo colocamos únicamente en dos zonas muy determinadas: en la zona del depósito de combustible y en los Jerry Cans.

 

The effect for the creation of fuel stains is only placed in two very specific areas: in the area of the fuel tank and in the Jerry Cans.

En la zona del depósito de combustible se ha colocado una buena cantidad, como resultado de un rápido volcado de combustible desde los Jerry Cans, por medio de algún embudo (o no), y el nulo tiempo para su eliminación.

 

In the area of the fuel tank, a good amount has been placed, as a result of a quick dump of fuel from the Jerry Cans, through some funnel (or not), and no time for its elimination.

 

En los Jerry Cans se ha colocado este efecto alrededor de los tapones, pero de una forma más sutil y sin exageración. Con ello se puede interpretar que han sido usados y están vacíos.

 

In the Jerry Cans this effect has been placed around the plugs, but in a more subtle way and without exaggeration. With this it can be interpreted that they have been used and are empty.

 

El uso del efecto de manchas de aceite, ha sido un poco más selectivo y colocado en zonas más determinadas.

Por ello en donde más se incidirá la colocación de manchas y chorretones es en los Bogies de las orugas.

 

The use of the oil stain effect has been a little more selective and placed in more specific areas.

For this reason, where the placement of spots and drips will be most affected is the Bogies of the caterpillars.

También se depositará pequeñas cantidades de este efecto en algunas bisagras, ya que con las lluvias y a la intemperie, las bisagras suelen oxidarse con demasiada frecuencia, debido a la constante fricción entre metales. Para evitar esta oxidación y el consiguiente chirrío y dificultad de moverlas posteriormente, las tripulaciones de los vehículos militares solían colocar unas gotas de aceite de motor a estas partes, a modo de lubricante. Exactamente igual que en nuestras casas le ponemos a las bisagras de las puertas que chirrían, aceite “3 en 1”.

 

Small amounts of this effect will also be deposited on some hinges, since in the rain and outdoors, the hinges tend to rust too often, due to the constant friction between metals. To avoid this oxidation and the consequent squeak and difficulty of moving them later, the crews of military vehicles used to put a few drops of motor oil on these parts, as a lubricant. Exactly the same as in our homes, we put “3-in-1” oil on our squeaky door hinges.

Como esta pintura da un efecto muy interesante, se ha optado por aplicar manchas de suciedad de aceite en varias zonas más. Por ejemplo en los alerones de las ruedas, al lado de la portezuela del capó del motor, a modo de derrame de aceite del motor.

 

As this paint gives a very interesting effect, it has been chosen to apply oil dirt stains in several more areas. For example on the wheel spoilers, next to the engine hood door, as an engine oil spill.

Los que hemos tenido que poner aceite a un coche en reiteradas ocasiones sabemos que este producto es muy escandaloso, por lo que deja manchas allí donde no queremos que aparezcan. Y eliminarlas cuesta realmente mucho, ya que con un trapo no sólo no lo eliminamos, sino que lo expandimos más. Y si se ha tenido la ocasión de ver un vehículo de estas características en vivo y funcionando, se puede observar “demasiadas” manchas de aceite en los alrededores del capó del motor.

 

Those of us who have had to oil a car repeatedly know that this product is very scandalous, so it leaves stains where we do not want them to appear. And eliminating them really costs a lot, since with a cloth we not only not eliminate it, but we expand it more. And if you have had the opportunity to see a vehicle of these characteristics live and working, you can see "too many" oil stains around the engine hood.

 

Estas manchas se hace aplicándolas a modo de filtro, diluyendo ligeramente el efecto y expandiendo la pequeñísima cantidad que tomaremos con un pincel del nº 1 ó 2, usando la técnica del mapping.

 

These spots are made by applying them as a filter, slightly diluting the effect and expanding the very small amount that we will take with a brush number 1 or 2, using the mapping technique.

Para realizar los óxidos en el vehículo, se usaran:

Acero Engrasado (Model Color 865 – 177), para el metal al descubierto.

Óxido Oscuro (Panzer Aces 302), para el primer óxido.

Óxido Claro (Panzer Aces 301), para el segundo óxido.

Óxido Oscuro (Modelo Wash 507), para el primer lavado.

Óxido (Model Wash 506), para el segundo lavado.

 

To make the oxides in the vehicle, the following will be used:

Oily Steel (Model Color 865 - 177), for bare metal.

Dark Rust (Panzer Aces 302), for the first oxide.

Light Rust (Panzer Aces 301), for the second oxide.

Dark Rust (Wash Model 507), for the first wash.

Rust (Model Wash 506), for the second wash.

 

Sobre las manchas de rozaduras, en algunos puntos concretos, los que creamos que el color protector ha dejado paso al metal por el constante roce, aplicaremos pequeños puntos de Acero Engrasado. Esto se ha realizado con un pincel sintético de 10/0.

 

On the scratch stains, in some specific points, which we believe that the protective color has given way to the metal due to constant friction, we will apply small points of Oily Steel. This has been done with a 10/0 synthetic brush.

Para no cargar e vehículo con demasiado óxido, ya que solían tener un mantenimiento constante, no pondremos muchos puntos de metal al descubierto. Por norma general, personalmente no aplico mucho este efecto en vehículos militares, ya que su dotación estaban constantemente repintando y protegiendo el vehículo para evitar esto, por dos motivos: primero porque el metal donde se ha oxidado pierde dureza y es muy fácil que una bala de fusil pueda llegar a atravesar justo por ese punto, alcanzando a alguien de los tripulantes o pasaje, y segundo, más importante aún, para evitar los incordiantes arrestos por no cuidar el material del ejército que le han asignado.

 

In order not to load the vehicle with too much rust, since they used to have constant maintenance, we will not expose many metal points. As a general rule, personally I do not apply this effect much in military vehicles, since their crew were constantly repainting and protecting the vehicle to avoid this, for two reasons: first because the metal where it has oxidized loses its hardness and it is very easy for a bullet Rifle can get to go right through that point, reaching someone of the crew or passage, and second, more importantly, to avoid annoying arrests for not taking care of the army equipment that they have been assigned.

No sólo en los desconchones se aplica el Acero Engrasado, son en remaches, bisagras y especialmente en el parachoques frontal.

 

Oily Steel is not only applied in the chips, they are in rivets, hinges and especially in the front bumper.

En las cajas de las lonas de la parte trasera del semioruga, se hará un especial hincapié, ya que es una zona que constantemente se está abriendo y cerrando, al igual que en las manetas de las puertas del vehículo.

 

In the boxes of the tarpaulins at the rear of the half-track, special emphasis will be placed, since it is an area that is constantly opening and closing, as in the vehicle door handles.

Sobre estos puntos de metal al descubierto, no en todos, se aplica Óxido Oscuro, como óxido antiguo, de semanas.

 

Dark Rust, like old rust, of weeks old, is applied on these bare metal spots, not all of them.

Sobre estos puntos de óxido antiguo, no en todos, se aplica Óxido Claro, como óxido más reciente.

 

On these old rust spots, not all, Light Rust is applied, as more recent rust.

Este óxido Claro se aplica poco y mesurado, pero en el capó del vehículo y los alerones de las ruedas, me he permitido la licencia de incrementarlo un poco más de lo que debería.

 

This light rust is applied little and measured, but on the hood of the vehicle and the spoilers of the wheels, I have allowed myself the license to increase it a little more than it should.

Una vez se ha terminado de marcar el óxido claro, se aplica el lavado de Óxido Oscuro, ligeramente más diluido, para dejar un ruedo de óxido alrededor.

Posteriormente se realiza lo mismo con el lavado óxido, más rebajado aunque el oscuro, y se aplica en el centro de restos ruedos, sin cubrir por completo el anterior lavado.

 

Once the light rust is finished marking, the slightly more diluted Dark Rust wash is applied to leave a rust ring around it.

Subsequently, the same is done with the oxide wash, more lowered although the dark one, and it is applied in the center of the remains, without completely covering the previous wash.

Este ensuciado de grasa y óxido también se aplica en las piezas que montaremos más tarde: el soporte de la ametralladora Antiaérea .50Cal y el protector del parabrisas.

 

This grease and rust staining also applies to the parts that we will assemble later: the .50Cal Anti-aircraft machine gun mount and the windshield guard.
