[Star Wars] 1/110 Naboo Starfighter
En esta ocasión he montado y “pintado” una maqueta de Easy Kit Pocket de Revell, de la gama ya descatalogada de Star Wars.
This time I have assembled and "painted" a model of Revell's Easy Kit Pocket, from the discontinued Star Wars range.
Una maqueta muy simplona, perfecta para introducir a niños en el maquetismo. O a los no tan niños, amantes de Star Wars y que no han montado nunca una maqueta.
Estas maquetas de Star Wars, de la gama Easy Kit Pocket de Revell, lleva años descatalogada, aunque se puede encontrar a precios desorbitados por internet, de entre 13,- y 55,- €, o los pocos que se pueden encontrar en alguna juguetería o cadena de juguetes, sobre los 6,- €.
Esta maqueta viene pre-pintada y (“teóricamente”) no necesita pegamento. Aunque la realidad es que hay unas piezas que si no le ponemos unas gotas de cola para plástico, se estarán cayendo todo el rato.
Como he dicho, es simple y viene pre-pintada. Y por eso mismo tendremos un problema a la hora del montaje final… ya os lo contaré más adelante.
A very simple model, perfect for introducing children to model making. Or the not so young, Star Wars lovers who have never assembled a model.
These Star Wars models, from Revell's Easy Kit Pocket range, have been out of print for years, although they can be found at exorbitant prices on the internet, between € 13, - and € 55, or the few that can be found in a toy store. or chain of toys, about 6, - €.
This mockup comes pre-painted and ("theoretically") does not need glue. Although the reality is that there are some pieces that if we do not put a few drops of glue for plastic, they will be falling all the time.
Like I said, it is simple and comes pre-painted. And that is why we will have a problem at the time of final assembly ... I'll tell you about it later.
El pre-pintado no está nada mal para ser un juguete montable, pero si lo queremos poner en la estantería debemos darle más de un toque de pintado.
Lo primero que observamos es el piloto, que viene extrañamente pintado.
The pre-painted is not bad at all to be a mountable toy, but if we want to put it on the shelf we must give it more than a touch of paint.
The first thing we see is the pilot, which is strangely painted.
Para pintarlo más correctamente, he tenido que echar mano de una imagen de internet de un piloto de Naboo.
To paint it more correctly, I had to use an image from the internet of a Naboo pilot.
Para poder dar un color más acertado, he utilizado para la piel:
- Piel de Elfo (Game Color 004), como color base de la cara y los muñones de las manos.
- Lavado Carne (Game Wash 204), para las sombras de la carne. Este color lo he aplicado como un filtro sobre todo el color Piel de Elfo.
- Carne Pálida (Game Color 003), para los minúsculos puntitos de luces a poner en la cara y dorso de la mano.
In order to give a more accurate color, I have used for the skin:
- Elf Skin Tone (Game Color 004), as the base color of the face and the stumps of the hands.
- Fleshtone Shade (Game Wash 204), for the shadows of the meat. I have applied this color as a filter over all the Elf Skin Tone color.
- Pale Flesh (Game Color 003), for the tiny dots of lights to put on the face and back of the hand.
Para el uniforme he usado:
- Rojo (Model Color 926 – 033), para el color de la camisa. A este color no le aplico ni sombras ni luces.
- Ocre Marrón (Model Color 856 – 127), como color base de la cazadora.
- Amarillo Desierto (Model Color 977 – 125), para las luces del color ocre, aplicado también con minúsculos puntitos sobre todo en las solapas.
- Rojo Mate (Model Color 957 – 031), como color base de la capa con mangas.
- Bermellón (Model Color 909 – 028), para las luces de la capa.
El casco se ha dejado con el marrón rojizo que viene pre-pintado y los cristales de las gafas de aplican con Azul Oscuro (Model Color 930 – 053).
For the uniform I have used:
- Red (Model Color 926 - 033), for the color of the shirt. I do not apply shadows or highlights to this color.
- Ochre Brown (Model Color 856 - 127), as the base color of the jacket.
- Desert Yellow (Model Color 977 - 125), for the ocher lights, also applied with tiny dots especially on the flaps.
- Flat Red (Model Color 957 - 031), as the base color of the coat with sleeves.
- Vermilion (Model Color 909 - 028), for the lights of the cape.
The helmet has been left with the reddish brown that comes pre-painted and the lenses of the glasses are applied with Dark Blue (Model Color 930 - 053).
Los paneles de mando de la cabina, aunque se ven poco, no es cuestión de dejarlos en blanco, ya que está todo grabado, pero viene sin color.
Para dar este aspecto de paneles de vuelo, tanto los laterales como el frontal, he usado las siguientes pinturas.
- Negro (Model Color 950 – 169).
- Amarillo Limón (Model Color 952 – 011).
- Bermellón (Model Color 909 – 028).
- Verde Escorpena (Game Color 032).
- Verde Malicioso (Game Color 025).
- Azul Eléctrico (Game Color 023).
The cockpit control panels, although they are rarely seen, is not a question of leaving them blank, since everything is engraved, but it does not come with color.
To give this look of flight panels, both the sides and the front, I have used the following paints.
- Black (Model Color 950 - 169).
- Lemon Yellow (Model Color 952 - 011).
- Vermilion (Model Color 909-028).
- Scorpy Green (Game Color 032).
- Foul Green (Game Color 025).
- Electric Blue (Game Color 023).
Una vez pintado todo ello, se separan las piezas del bastidor. Para ello he utilizado una cuchilla de modelismo, para dejar el mínimo de bebedero en las piezas.
Por cierto, para ser una maqueta/juguete, los bebederos son excesivamente anchos y grandes, por lo que cuesta mucho de soltar la pieza, si no es con unas tenacillas o cuchilla.
Once all this has been painted, the parts of the frame are separated. For this I have used a modeling blade, to leave the minimum sprue in the pieces.
By the way, for a model / toy, the sprues are excessively wide and large, so it costs a lot to loosen the piece, if not with a pair of tweezers or a blade.
El fondo de la cabina lo he pintado con el Negro Abaddon de Citadel. He usado este color, ya que lo tengo de cuando regalaron los colores en unos fascículos (y ahora se porque los regalaron). Este pintado lo realice antes de pintar los paneles, por lo que al momento de aplicar estos y el asiento con el piloto, solo con el tacto, la pintura salta de mala manera. El resto de colores no han saltado. Está claro que no es un problema del plástico.
I've painted the bottom of the cockpit with Citadel Abaddon Black. I have used this color, since I have it from when they gave away the colors in some booklets (and now I know why they gave them away). This painting is done before painting the panels, so when applying these and the seat with the pilot, only with the touch, the paint jumps in a bad way. The rest of the colors have not jumped. It is clear that it is not a plastic problem.
Aunque esta maqueta está diseñada para sacar del batidor u montar sin pegamento, indicar que los paneles, para que encajen se ha tenido que hacer más grande el encaje del fondo de la cabina y rebajar el pivote del panel.
Al final las piezas las tuve que encolar. Primero porque el piloto en el asiento solo se posa sobre el y segundo porque el encaje del asiento con el fondo de la cabina es raro y hace que con el movimiento, se salga de él.
Although this model is designed to be removed from the whisk or assembled without glue, indicate that the panels, in order for them to fit, the fit at the bottom of the booth had to be made larger and the pivot of the panel lowered.
In the end the pieces had to be glued. First, because the pilot in the seat only sits on it, and second, because the fit of the seat with the bottom of the cockpit is rare and makes it move out of it.
Antes de montar el exterior de la nave, se realiza un panelado con Lavado Negro (Game Wash 201).
Es una maqueta pequeña, pero con surcos de los paneles muy profundos y anchos.
Before assembling the exterior of the warehouse, a paneling is done with Black Wash (Game Wash 201).
It is a small model, but with very deep and wide panel grooves.
Después de sacar de los bastidores las piezas, se encolan entre sí. Comentar que la cabina queda bien encajada, pero el cuerpo de la nave, hasta que no se pone la panza, se separan entre sí.
After removing the parts from the racks, they are glued together. Comment that the cabin is well fitted, but the body of the ship, until the belly is put on, they separate from each other.
Una vez puesta la panza y los motores, ya tenemos casi terminada el caza.
Once the belly and the engines are on, we have almost finished the fighter.
Por ultimo colocaremos la cabeza de la unidad mecánica R2, encolado que si no se queda encajado, y la cúpula de cristal, que también encolaremos, con sumo cuidado de no poner excesivamente pegamento, para que la transparencia de la cúpula no quede afectada por los gases del mismo.
Finally we will place the head of the mechanical unit R2, glued that if it does not stay embedded, and the glass dome, which we will also glue, being very careful not to put excess glue, so that the transparency of the dome is not affected by the gases from it.
Como es una maqueta prepintada y con bebederos demasiado grandes, al cortar las piezas queda una pequeña zona blanca, demasiado visible debido al pequeño tamaño, de 10 x 4,7 cm.
Al venir pintada, es francamente difícil (por no decir que imposible), encontrar el mismo color para poder ocultar estas “manchas” blancas que se ven en exceso, en especial en los motores.
Por ello he creado impactos en esos “enormes” puntos blancos de los bebederos, para que no se vean.
Estos se han hecho poniendo pequeñas líneas y manchitas de Negro (Model Color 950 – 169), dando el toque con pigmento Negro Carbón – Humo Negro (Pigmentos Vallejo 116).
As it is a pre-painted model with too large sprues, when cutting the pieces a small white area remains, too visible due to the small size, of 10 x 4.7 cm.
As it is painted, it is frankly difficult (if not impossible), to find the same color to be able to hide these white "spots" that are seen in excess, especially in the engines.
For this reason, I have created impacts on those “huge” white spots on the drinkers, so that they are not visible.
These have been made by putting small lines and spots of Black (Model Color 950 - 169), giving the touch with Carbon Black – Smoke black pigment (Vallejo Pigments 116).
Al final se aplica una pequeña gota de Fijador de Pigmento (Auxiliar 233).
At the end a small drop of Pigment Binder (Auxiliary 233) is applied.
